I bought VitaminShoppe: 3 x 34.99 = 104.97 - 20% = 83.98. Which is roughly $28 each shipped. No tax for Texas I guess.

ProppaT said:Not to change the subject, but does anyone know of any good deals on rice protein? I found out I was a lot more lactose intolerant than I had originally thought drinking whey protein...it wasn't pretty.

Theoretically Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) is lactose-free as the lactose is processed out. Look for 100% WPI or whey protein that is lactose-free.

Why not just get a 6lb bag of whey protein from sams club for $25?

How about some of THIS

Can't you just eat a bunch of protein and get the same benefit without spending $30 on a can of powder?

The cost of whey protein is cheaper than any other protein source you can name. 5 lbs. of Optimum whey is 80oz X 23g/oz. = 1840 g of protein. So, each gram of protein costs approximately $0.02 or less.

The closest you can get to that in a grocery store item is water-packed tuna, which is about 33 g of protein for $0.70. Milk protein, cottage cheese, and any other kind of meat is going to be quite a bit more expensive.

There's also the convenience -- you can consume 25-50 g of protein in literally 10-20 seconds. Or you can make a really tasty shake and enjoy it. Try adding in sugar-free instant pudding flavors.

For example:

6 oz. of orange juice
50 g of vanilla whey protein
5 heaping tsp. of SF vanilla pudding
2 packs of splenda

Mix with ice and additional water (maybe 20 fl.oz.) and blend. That is really, really tasty.

Can anyone else get this coupon code to work?

I would recommend using the powder with milk and mixing it in a "Magic Bullet".I also add fresh fruit.
Hubby is on dialysis and needs extra protein.

Taste matters. I haven't tried Sam's brand yet, but Optimum Nutrition is known to be one of the best tasting.

Did you add an ON product, I believe that code only words with purchase of ON. For everything else try FITRX07 that one I'm unsure of, but I just used FREEON with my ON purchase earlier today.

I will never shop with fitrx again. The stuff that I've ordered from there in the past has been extremely short dated. Protein I ordered in 03/07 had expiration dates of 07/31/07. Defeats the purpose of buying in bulk to save money.

I got in on the EAS Max Milk deal from fitrx around the beginning of June. $5 for 2.5lb was just too good to pass up. The only thing is the expiration of each tub is Aug 1 2007. I'm already halfway through my 3rd tub (I bought 4), so I'm almost there. I agree with you on not buying bulk, but fitrx still has some good deals none the less.

Not sure about Sam's club brand, but the one in costco is also $6 for $25 and it's EAS, which is a reputable company for sports nutrition.

I have been trying to get my parents into taking whey protein daily as most people in the world have like 1/10th the protein they should. In any case, Either at Sams or BJs my mom got 5lb of EAS brand whey for like $25. I thought it was a great deal and EAS is a big name company. Taste isnt as good as the ON (choc to choc) but close. Still ill stick with my Rocky Rhode ON.. its the best stuff on the planet! =P

Are you in most places in the world or are you in America?

If your in America than you are likely getting way more than you need. The body can only utilize like 20-30grams at a meal anyway, so how exactly are ya'll missing out on the other 9/10's of your protein?

You or your parents are only getting 2-3 grams protein per meal? Sounds like bullhonkey to me. Even American vegans get more protein than that.
