Not sure about Sam's club brand, but the one in costco is also $6 for $25 and it's EAS, which is a reputable company for sports nutrition. The costco EAS is just as bad. Severe gas. Its no joke. |

20-30 per meal? try 50g per meal. People should have at least .5g per body lb. Say you weigh 200, you should have 100g of protein. I, like most people into body building, strive for 1-1.5g per lb. So I take in about 250gs of protein a day... but not just whey, you also want casein as its much slower absorbing. (especially before bed) Just my 2 cents.. |

I would recommend getting two 5 lb. canisters instead of the bag. The bag is sealable, however it takes a while to use 10 lbs. of it. Plus I am pretty sure I have pricematched a 10 lb. bag to two 5 lb. canisters before on ezpricematch.com. The best deals I always find on ON Gold Standard Whey are either Vitamin Shoppe or GNC with the constant coupons and fat cash. No one ever beats the GNC or Vitamin Shoppe prices when you calculate the fat cash and the coupons. Just buy it when the coupons are around and keep it. |

Ive been getting 10lb optimum nutrition bags for almost 3 years now from anywhere from 40-45$ shipped from VitaminShoppe.com using the tricks in that thread, and thats not including the FatCash. I would recommend using that instead. |

not sure if it's been mentioned yet but I always order my Muscle Milk from www.vitaglo.com they have cheaper prices than anywhere else I've seen AND with free shipping for any order over $50 they still beat the total price of places like Supplement Warehouse even when they pricematch who usually make up the difference in price with a shipping charge. |

Yeah shipping out to Connecticut costs $25+ and takes awhile. My last order ended up through luckyvitamin.com because it ended up being the same price after shipping but it I received it quicker being on the east coast. If anyone knows where to get codes for luckyvitamin.com, please passe them along. iSpecK said:not sure if it's been mentioned yet but I always order my Muscle Milk from www.vitaglo.com

SW pricematches shipping also, so that's impossible. Edit to add that I just checked that site's prices for Muscle Milk and they're MORE expensive then SW. |

I was at GNC last night, they had ON 5 lbs tubs for $33.99 "Everyday low price" Not sure if it is national, but the flyer said that "Everyone gets Gold Card pricing on Optimum Nutrition. Expires July 31st." It would be good for people not wanting to wait for shipments, IMHO. I tried using the $5 off $25 coupon from GNC thread, but the guy refused. I walked away. Will try at another GNC on the way home tonight. $33.99 - $5.00 = $28.99 No shipping, no waiting, no sales tax on foods and supplements in NY. |

cremefilled said:Can't you just eat a bunch of protein and get the same benefit without spending $30 on a can of powder?
The cost of whey protein is cheaper than any other protein source you can name. 5 lbs. of Optimum whey is 80oz X 23g/oz. = 1840 g of protein. So, each gram of protein costs approximately $0.02 or less.
The closest you can get to that in a grocery store item is water-packed tuna, which is about 33 g of protein for $0.70. Milk protein, cottage cheese, and any other kind of meat is going to be quite a bit more expensive.
There's also the convenience -- you can consume 25-50 g of protein in literally 10-20 seconds. Or you can make a really tasty shake and enjoy it. Try adding in sugar-free instant pudding flavors.
For example:
6 oz. of orange juice 50 g of vanilla whey protein 5 heaping tsp. of SF vanilla pudding 2 packs of splenda
Mix with ice and additional water (maybe 20 fl.oz.) and blend. That is really, really tasty. Way to put it in FW terms. You've sold me on it, I'll buy some |
