walletandgromice said:UNTRUE! Regular Amazon price is $51 and it has been for at least the past few weeks. Apparently the manufacturer raised the MSRP by $10 and Amazon has not had it below $50 for a little while. Almost pulled the trigger yesterday for $51. Thanks OP!
Mehdi said:This is one of the best chargers in the market. The price is Amazon's regular pricing however... A couple of month ago I bought it from them for $34.95. I was in the same boat..looking for a price drop on this for a while...was about to place order yesterday for 51.xx. I have about 12 AA Panasonic 2300Mah batteries which are almost dead..let's see how many can be brought back to life. |

This happened to some of my Kodak nimh batteries which are almost brand new. You might need any cheap charger to fix this problem.
It happenned to me before but later on they added the picture how to revive the dead bat, I tried and it worked. If you have the old charger is good, if not, follow the pic.
Is this still the case with the "new firmware" which everyone keeps talking about? This is a great charger, but I've encountered the "NULL" battery a number of times. Usually what I have to do is get out my cheapie timed charger and give a base charge, and then I can put it back into the LaCrosse and it will start charging it from there. For those people who don't want to deal with charging rate numbers or discharge cycling, I highly recommend the MAHA C401FS which is the charger I had prior to the LaCrosse (and gave to my brother.) It has a simple to understand red light/green light for each cell and doesn't have problems charging <0.9V depleted cells. Oh, and the Lacrosse batteries that came bundled with my charger were absolute crap BTW. |

I love my BC900 but that Maha MH-C9000 looks nice. I'm interested in the battery "break in" feature. |

There is nothing here to regulate the current (except the dead battery). Anyone that is using rechargeables, and interested in this product, already has an old charger. Use that to get started. I guess the output of the charger is regulated, but are you sure you are not dumping the full current from the other battery into the dead one... |

Thanks OP. I was going to buy this right when they jumped the price up and I have been waiting for it to go back down. My old charger has been not working as well over the last couple months. |

If you 'roll' the cursor over the picture, a note will come up saying "Note on Step 3: In case the dead cell has developed a short circuit (very rare), it may continue to draw a huge current from the good cell. So watch out for signs of over-heating!" |

It might be a couple bucks off Amz normal price, I didn't write it down but it has been very close to this the last month. Or maybe the same. Great charger with a few problems as have been noted. I've been studying specs for a month now. This will probably work really well for most folks. |

How does this charger work with eneloop batteries from Sanyo (the ones that hold their charge longer than other NIMH batteries and come charged) Any experience out there? |

Any experience out there? According to this, yes! This was found under the "customer discussions" section of the Amazon page for the charger. |

From what I have read any smart charger works great with the eneloop batteries. This is off CPF. I plan to have more eneloops, but they are still expensive. Here again it depends on the use. Every year I get more AA and AAA stuff. Just ordered the Am@zon Logitech (Harmony thing) super remote control that should be here in a couple of days. I just received a bunch of 2700 AA rechargables. My Olympus battery charger works great. I think I am going to get the Maha MH-C9000. I still think it is a lot of money for a charger though. Good luck to all... As an afterward, I think that what you select depends on your nerd quotient. Did you come up with your own solution to the Rubics Cube? Do you really need all these features? I'm a NERD. |

Finally ordered this, thanks for the headsup. Regretted not getting it at the $35 pricepoint. I like the freebies. Since it comes with 4-AA and 4-AAA batteries that's about $10-$15 anyway I was going to spend (although they are not as good as Enloops for example). I also kept meaning to pick up a few of the C and D battery adapters too. Maybe this will revive a couple of my Duracell NiMH that aren't really working very long anymore. |

GREEN for alesmith56 & OP for such great info & deal. If you're interested in keeping an eye on a specific item (for possible PM or buy when it drops to the bottom) I would recommmend Rsstalker which gives you an RSS feed for any product or wish list. If you're trolling for deals, they have a feed of all Amazon price changes of more than 10%. Unfortunately they do not filter 3rd party sellers very effectively so you can get false information from the feed. If anyone has a better site that does just Amazon.com prices (and not 3rd party) I would be interested in knowing. |

Awesome! FatWallet Instant Topic Alerts are great! I've been watching the price at Amazon for a month now, and this is by far the lowest in that time. I ordered one. Too bad it wasn't also in my gold box, but this is still a great price. I'm surprised I haven't also received my price drop e-mail from the Amazon Price Watch site yet. - Eric |

- Eric you probably should get one soon. It seems like the frozenwarrior site only checks prices once a day in evenings. What I posted was from 17:27 PDT. If any one knows of a site that is closer to real time I would be all ears! |
