If I didn't already have one, I would be jumping on this. Great charger.

It's at $39.99 for me (up from $39.38 a few days ago when I originally added it to my cart), so I finally pulled the trigger.

I have several sets of Sanyo batteries with different chargers, so all the positive remarks here have encouraged me to step up and buy this.

Thanks OP.

I just decided to look at recent posts before turning off the computer and eating dinner.

I had checked Amazon this morning to see the price of the charger and it was still high.

AMAZING, it's down again for a while at least. I missed it last time.

THANKS to Sparky28 for reposting it. Not all of us choose to have recent posts to old threads appear as a priority. Guess I should consider it though I'd have missed this if not for what the mods considered to be a REPOST and which I consider to be a GREAT POST to clue me in to a deal again active!

I second that, especially since I view the bajillions of deals on FW by originating topic, not by last message. I can understand the need to eliminate clutter, but sometimes I think the mods have a tendency to be lock-happy. I just hope their habit of locking threads doesn't prevent people from posting revived deals as new topics or I'd never find out about deals like this.

I agree. Had I seen this post again I would have ignored it. The BC-900 is always out of stock or over priced. Now it was actually at that price... so I bought it. Thank you!

Hi,

Can someone who own this charger answer some usage questions? Does it default to charging mode or does it need to be set each time. If I only put batteries in for charging, what is the default charging rate? If I prefer a different default charging rate, do I have to set it each time and for all 4 individual batteries? Does it remember what I previously set? I like the features but most of the time will just use this for normal recharging of batteries and don't want to have to hit a bunch of buttoms just to use it.

  • Can someone who own this charger answer some usage questions? Sure!

  • Does it default to charging mode or does it need to be set each time. Defaults to CHARGE

  • If I only put batteries in for charging, what is the default charging rate? 200ma

  • If I prefer a different default charging rate, do I have to set it each time and for all 4 individual batteries?
For other than 200ma, you have to set it. But, you can set GROUPS at a time (2,3,4).
Besides RATE, you can also select individual MODE (CHARGE, DISCHARGE, REFRESH, TEST).

  • Does it remember what I previously set? No.

I like the features but most of the time will just use this for normal recharging of batteries and don't want to have to hit a bunch of buttoms just to use it.It's a VERY CUSTOMIZABLE charger. If 200ma is OK with you, then it's PLUG-N-GO.

SEARCH the Archives - I posted a LONG answer within the past year, IIRC...

Also note that there's a link to the manual on the Amazon product page.

Here is a non-graphics, non-scanned(?) (i.e., much smaller in size and clearer) version of the manual directly from the manufacturer:

Thank you TakeTheActive, george2001, and katx.

I like it but only wish it came with just the charger and still lower price. I've decided to only buy low discharge nimh (eneloop or hybrio) and don't want to waste money on regular rechargeable AA.

I have Duracell batteries from an Amazon deal last year, but they barely have any staying power in the Logitech wireless keyboard I use. This is different from my previous experience w/ NiMH rechargeable batteries.

Maybe I need this La Crosse charger (and some of the Sanyo Eneloop batteries)?

It has been $39.99 pretty consistently for the last several weeks. (I’ve had it ‘saved for later’ in my cart for some time, and not gotten a price change alert anytime I’ve checked lately.) So, not really hot IMO. Lemme know when it drops to $29.99; then you’re talking hot.

I ordered two of these about a year ago, one as a present, one for myself. Well, they were sent in two big boxes, which was weird. There was one charger in one box, and a box of chargers in the other box. Yes, the second box had a case of 5 chargers. Made me wonder what the heck someone was thinking when they were fulfilling the order sheet at the distributor.

I did give the extra ones away as gifts on birthdays and whatnot, and they're being put to good use. I use mine very regularly, and it's been great.

Be sure to check your gold box. These have shown up a few times lately at $37.99 in mine.

What are you talking about? I've looked several times in the past months and it's always at $39.99. I've been trying to catch it cheaper and have it sitting in my cart. Hasn't once been more that I've seen, unless it's just been so for a week or so and I missed it. I can't understand anyone getting excited over what's still the regular Amazon price for pete sake.

You, sir, are one lucky dude. Wish that would happen to me more often...

On another note, I recently purchased this charger and it is awesome. Took me a week or 2 to refresh all my old set, but man, this is a battery-hogging gadget-fiend's best friend.
