The Economist has not been available through Delta for some time now but I was hooked on it after that 12 issues for $12 promo. So for those that miss The Economist after the 12 issues were up, here is a great way to redeem just 3,200 towards a 1 year ~$100 subscription which is a great conversion rate in itself.

DAL: LINK

Other airline magazine programs also offerings The Economist for 3,200 miles:
AA: LINK
CO: LINK
NWA: LINK

Cash Back is available from FatWallet!Delta » See offers, coupons, ratings, and applicable restrictions.

Remember that in most FF programs, this counts as activity.

July 9, 2008: United has The Economist (3,200 miles) at http://www.magsformiles.com/40833 - August 15 deadline according to mailer.

United Airlines also offers the Economist, but only via the automated phone system 1-800-961-8723

I was thinking the same thing. My last magazine subscription to another magazine through DAL miles worked out as a renewal to my expired subcription so I may try to place another order for The Economist to see if it adds on the same subscription. Even if I start to receive 2 copies of the same issue, I'm sure they would merge the two accounts into one as I was able to do with The Week some time ago. If anyone else knows more on this, please let us know. I will report my results.

More than one order for same items are treated as renewals, provided the recipient is same.

If you submit multiple requests with the same address, they will combine automatically.

If you already have an existing subscription and you start receiving multiple copies, you can combine them as well.

I'm in for Businessweek and Economist. Might do it again to get another year... Saved me $150 in any case for some Delta miles I was never going to use.

FYI, and if anyone interested, you can download full audio at
www.economist.com/audioedition for free. You need to register for the site, but do not need to be a subscriber.

p.s. I must have missed the 12 "free" promo. But after my $12/12 issue ended one month ago, I am still getting it.

lillian, you're right it wasn't 12 free issues but 12 issues for $12 promo. Thanks for pointing that out, correction made to the OP.

Is there anyway to get expired miles reinstated???

I had 10,000 miles during that Dash to the Gate promotion in 2004.

Nope, it's almost certain you won't be able to swing this, especially with the financial trouble their in and your lack of flying with them over the past 3 years.
