The Costco in Westbury, NY has lots of this in stock. Got two today. I was disappointed though that the charger is not labeled as a "world" charger. It's supposed to support only 100-120 V AC as input. On the other hand, the 4-AA charger on Amazon is described as having a "foldaway AC plug offers worldwide voltage". |

guy121 said:If any of you already have a charger (like the BC-900) and just need the eneloops the cheapest I've found was at www.batterybob.com . He only sells in 2 packs, but buy two and you have 4 AA for 10.28 shipped or 4 AAA for 8.38 shipped. Tax only in Florida.
In the end the price will be cheaper if you need the charger, but if you just need only AA's because none of your gadgets use AAA then this will be better for you. Upon recommendation from another thread on candlepowerforums (the same forum linked in the OP), I ordered a few AAA Eneloop 2-packs's from batterybob a few months ago. They shipped quick, but the package ended up arriving "POSTAGE DUE" since batterybob didn't put enough postage, so I had to pay $0.51 for the "free shipping." Since their customer service was nice enough to send what looked like a personalized email to let me know when my order shipped, and explicitly asked for feedback, I told them about the postage due. I got no response at all. The postage due is somewhat understandable since it was around the time postal rates increased, but ignoring me pretty unprofessional. |

Yes if you want to kill them faster. Do yourself a favor annd get a charger like the Maha c9000 or the Lacross 900. If you don't want to spend $40-$60 on those, then find a charger that will charge in 2-3 hours. Batteries this size and capacity aren't designed to be recharged fully in 15 mins. Either you overheat them to get them fully charged, or you aren't fully charging them.
For instance...the AA Eneloop is rated conservatively at 2000 mah (or 2ah). Fully discharged to fully charged at 100% effeciency (which isn't possible) in 15 mins would take EIGHT amps (8 * 1/4 hour = 2ah). Good luck pushing 8 amps into these for 15 mins straight and not shortening battery life. And, remember...that's at an unattainable 100% effeciency on an underrated battery. well babying batteries isn't for everyone, we are talking fractions of a cent per charge use for these batteries since they last hundreds of charges. even if you knocked off 25% lifespan it would still be almost nothing per use. 15 minute charging convenience justifies its usefulness. 15 minute charger makes it possible to charge at the last minute, and hybrid makes it possible to not worry so much about how long the batteries been sitting since the last charge. both take the hassle out of using such batteries. the durracel 15 minute charger does a decent job of keeping the battery cool, the vents and fan are large enough. some other fast chargers have lousy cooling. |

eB@y! I've heard that you can get a Costco cash card from a paying member and use that in-store. I havent confirmed this myself, but it may be worth checking into. Also, this case comes with C and D cell adapters, that you use with the charged AA batteries. This is a neat feature that could come in handy in certain cases (like flashlight emergencies with old Mag-lite style flashlights). |

I returned an item last week and they gave me a gift card saying that you didn't need a membershp to use it. |

They are definitely present in Seattle - I grabbed a pack from Costco #1 (in its new building on 4th Ave S). I saw somewhere (possibly on the labeling or documentation) that as long as the batteries are within 2 years of the date that is listed on their package, they will still have a usable amount of charge left straight out of the box. I was impressed! 4xAA are currently in one of our digital cameras, and my plan is to keep 4xAA as the 'standby' batteries in our battery tubes (which hold 8xAA each). The (slow-)charger that will charge odd numbers of cells (1 or 3 at a time, no requirement for 'banks' of 2) is a great bonus, especially since I'd been wanting one that I could take to work with me to top off the AAAs that I use for various things there. Now if only they sold the cells separately as well... a FW'er is never satisfied |

it's available at Austin arboretum location. I picked one up last weekend. It was still there today. It is only a small stack just right behind the Duracell mound. |

The postage changes went into effect months ago. Sorry, BatteryBob, whoever that is, is trying scam the post office by underpaying postage, and they got caught. My recommendation is you do a chargeback on them--that will cost them a lot more than $0.51, and it'll definitely get their attention. Oh, and don't forget to leave negative feedback! Kwad |
