I just bought one of these today - can't quite say how much I like it yet - too soon to tell. One big thing I can't figure out is on some SD channels, Wide setting has bars on the sides and my only change for aspect ratio is the Zoom feature which crops the bottom and top of picture quite a bit. Other channels HD, and some SD movie channels don't have this issue. I bought this one due to my kids just buying an Xbox 360 last week. I had the 50" Vizio plasma that I bought a couple of months ago, and after just a few hours of them playing lost planet, I was getting ghost images of the score boxes and map. Luckily the image cleaner utility took care of them but it spooked me and then I saw on the Vizio website that they don't cover this issue under the plasma warranty. Since this isn't a concern with LCD (Vizio even "guarantees" no image burn on the website), I opted to upgrade. Too bad though - the plasma had a pretty nice picture. |

What does "opted to upgrade" mean? Did you goto costco to exchange the unit? |

I guess you bought the Vizio 50" Plasma before the new return policy was put into effect, like before March/April? |

$2k and $2500 thats a big difference, time to look through all the specs and reviews again. I thought the current price for that set is $2799 at b&m costco. Wouldn't $500 off bring it down to $2299? Or the price is still $2999 - $200at b&m? Si 2999 - $500 = $2499 $2299 vs $2499? That's the question. I'll buy it on Sept 4 if it's $2299 but not if it's $2499. This $200 made a world of difference. |

$2k and $2500 thats a big difference, time to look through all the specs and reviews again. i think the price is 2299$. Sharp is the best LCD i have seen. So if it is 2299 i will pay the difference. |

Si 2999 - $500 = $2499 The current price at Clearwater, FL Costco is $2999 minus $200 "Instant Manufacturer's Rebate" I'm interested in this set as well. However, my guess is that the $500 off will leave the price at $2999 - $500 = $2499. Still a good price considering all of the "banding" problems with the set and Costco's return policy. |

$2500, not buying. The sweet spot is $2300 because online reseller like buydig.com are selling it at $2330. If costco is selling for $2300 + tax (tax will be around $200 which is quite a lot for me), I might swallow the extra because it's costco. However, when you know it's $2500 + tax, and compared it to online $2330, is $400 worth it? I could have bought extended warranty with that price. One might argue costco has 2nd year extended warranty, but buying it with my AMEX will offer the same protection, though not as convenient like costco, but not $400 worth of convenient. |

I was wrong, the tv is now $2700, with $500 coupon on Sept, it'll be $2200 which become a really sweet deal. |
