Philips Electronics Employee store has Magnavox 50 in HDTV plasma1080i, model number 50MF231D/37 with free shipping. Register as new user or use email and pasword from Philips Outlet. Not a bad deal for 50 inch plasma, I would say!

I've tried them--WARNING!!!!!! Philips Outlet is awful. They give terrible service and their refurbished items are trash. Look online for other complaints. Believe me I made a huge mistake with a 50" Plasma from them. Took months trying to work things out and had to go to the mat to get a refund. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are probably correct that Philips Outlet and Philips Employee store are managed by the same people but I think employee store does not sell refurbished products so this TV is brand new.
Weird.. it says that it supports 1080i, but the real resolution is 768. The product feature says: High Definition plasma WXGA display, 1366 x 768p, but Supported Display Resolution Video Formats : 480i - 60Hz, 480p - 60Hz, 720p - 60Hz, 1080i - 60Hz

I'll back up your claims about Philips Outlet being run by a bunch of numbskulls. Good thing this deal isn't from Philips Outlet.
resolution is only 720p (1366 x 768) not 1080i. OP fix your title.
Only 1 HDMI input, no Connection for PC
This is a good price, but with prices on 50in HDTV rapidly falling I'll wait for a good price on a better HDTV.
Consumer Reports: This TV displayed good picture quality for HD and DVD and fair for standard-definition content. Images on all inputs had a hard time keeping detail in both dark and bright areas. The color was a bit off and appeared slightly blotchy. The remote isn't backlit so it can be hard to use in low lighting. The on-screen menu is difficult to navigate.

Thanks for the post OP. I ordered this TV about a week ago, but before the free shipping offer. They just credited the shipping costs to my credit card. Green for you!

isn't this really cheap for a 50"? Is the quality of the tv so bad that its not a good deal?
