Ahh, the 15% off. Dang, I wish I hadn't missed that. Anyways, If you're in the market for a 42" TV then IMO I think it's a very good deal. Especially if you're able to get it for under a 1000 bucks. I'm seriously considering it without the 15% and only with the 150 off deal. The 77 series gives a quality picture and the anti-glare coating is a necessity for me as I get a lot of light.

If I had a bigger place I might prefer a 50" but my living room just isn't that big.

Not to rub it in, but I was one of the lucky ones ... I managed to combine the $150 discount + 5% Friends & Family discount + the 15% email discount + 5% FatWallet CashBack + 2% credit card CashBack, the stars aligned just right for a change. So, my total was around $745 + Tax when all said and done. I also scored the 50" 75U one for a friend at around $1100. It is a great set and next to no reflections, however the outer black case does reflect, but the screen itself does not.

Don't cheer until you see the credit for the 15%. They are reviewed before the credit is actually given. I was told last night that they were NOT approving the 15% with the F&F discount.

I do not need to wait for anything else except a lower price in the next 30 days.

Unless your living room is tiny I'm sure you could fit it. You rarely if ever hear someone say they should have gone smaller!

Mine appeared on Sunday morning. My history was last week:

Monday 1 pm: Signed up for 15% online email address offer last monday
Monday 3 pm: Received welcome mail with shopping link but no 15% discount
Wednesday 12:30 AM: Ordered the plasma + a kitchen appliance (that was extra 10% off too) for $1049 with the $150 offer, clicked thru FatCash
Wednesday 9am: Called Sears CSR, got them to apply the 15% online email sign up offer to the entire order.
Thursday 1 pm: Picked up the plasma at the local store
Friday: Charge appeared on my credit card, separately for the Plasma and another for the appliance
Sunday morning: Received email stating a $169 credit was applied to the plasma purchase. (Appliance was on order and hasn't been picked up)
Sunday afternoon: Received email from Fatwallet about click through transaction reported.

So, the only 2 unknowns are if I will receive the same 15% off credit once the appliance is picked up (it should, I believe they just have it held in limbo since I actually haven't taken posession of it yet), and what, if any effects the 15% discounts have on the reported FatWallet CashBack (e.g. will it not reduce it, will it reduce it appropriately, or will it screw it up and loose the extra 5% click thru)

In any case, it seems that if you were promised on the phone that you'd get the 15% credit *after* you placed your order, you should be safe and start seeing those transactions appear in your email box and credit card shortly.

The Sears $150 off a 40" or higher and $250 off a 50" or higher is now a mail in rebate for on-line purchases made with your Sears card from 8/22-11/17. Previously this was just an in-store offer.

Does anybody know if a PM can invalidate the rebates. I guess no but as I have not dealt with Sears rebate, I have no idea.

Yesterday I picked the 75U at Wayne NJ for $1099-$150 Sears cc - $10 Sears cc, which is not so hot as some of deals here but I just wanted to chip in my thoughts on antiglare coating...

Both 77 antiglare and 75 plain were priced 1099... at that store, and since 77 was OOS I opted for 75, especially after seeing them side by side....

The picture on 77 with antiglare coating felt somewhat dimmed as if the screen was, well, coated with something. In addition to it, the 77 display model had a little scratch on the screen, and one could see the bright(er) screen thru the coating... so I thought... the coating is trade-off, and I'd prefer the brighter screen over the coating...
Even in the store I could see no big difference in reflections...

Now with tv in my living room I'm even more sure coating was not needed, even the windows that were before reflecting on my old crt are now not an issue...

So my 2 cents opinion is... if 77 is out of stock, dont wait for it, go with 75...

Q]

The price was $1099 in-store? Really?
Time for a trip and time to get a Sears card.

Rebate Success!

Got it credited back to my card!

Had to escalate it several times.

Rebate Center says this model is not included. Don't take NO!

Escalate it, go to a supervisor then go to the main Sears.com center! (1-800-549-4505)
