I already have the 50pz700u and the pic on the 42" is "almost" as good when watching std or HDTV. PS3 at 1080p is much better on the 50" though.

Did the salesman scan the $150 through or did he/she have to get the managers approval? When I tried doing that the $250 off wouldn't scan through so he had to get the manager to approve it. The manager then said that they wouldn't price match to fry's and give me the $250 off. It was one or the other.

They could not get it to scan so they pricematched it as so. 999 fry's price - 150 Sears offer = 849
=
Sears price 1100 - 849 = 251 so then 849 - 25 (10% pm) = $824 + tax OTD

They did the same when I bought the 50pz700u. That came to $1639

Pan 50"/42"

I have founf in store wont do both, but if you are willing to wait for rebate. The Sears 1-800 number will price match and you can still do in store pickup. Then just mail in rebate...

I can't do the mail in rebate because I'm from Canada and the rebate form says only US addresses with no P.O Boxes.

THe 42/50's are not at Sears.Com anymore.
Can I still buy the 42 in the store?

First post, be gentle

FYI: The 50" Panny: TH-50PX75U is back on sale at Sears.com for $1599.99

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05775577000P

They are still running the $250 off 50" TVs for an IN STORE purchase with yours Sears card according to the electronics homepage. This is an instant rebate in store, no waiting, which also saves you tax on the purchase.

So, $1599.99 - $250 = $1349.99+TAX, a great deal on this TV.

I was happy when I got this for $1699.99, less $250 (more than 30 days ago, so no price match for me).

Went to Sears near closing time found the newest kid in the floor and let him "talk" me into the tv and agree to price match and money off for Sears card. Manager almost refused to accept but the store was closing and the kid screwed up checking me out several times so she allowed both!

1449 Price match to fry's
-15.10 10% difference
-250 Using Sears card
+65 Delivery
+106.55 Tax

1355.45 Total

I ordered the 50" Plasma at Sears last night. Unfortunately it was out of stock and not available until Monday, the 15th for pickup. I bought it for $1349 ($1599 minus $250 Sears card offer). Does any know or have any experience of whether a BB or CC would match this price and let me bring it home today. The only hang ups I foresee with the PM are 1.) the fact that the television is not currently in stock thus no pricematch and 2.) on the Sears' receipt they have their stock number listed next to the t.v., not the actually model number. Any advice would be welcome.

On a side note, I have a 10% off BB coupon. Do you know if they honor those with along with any PM?

Ok, here's the answer to my question. I just went to my local BB with my Sears receipt and a print off copy of the Panasonic 50" from the site with both the stock number and model number. I asked the sales guy if he had it in stock. He said he just sold the last one but should have another by Friday. When I asked about the PM, the sales guy could not believe I got it for that price. He said he would have to run it by his manager. He came back and said, "Sorry we can't go this low without losing money. That is such a great deal on a great t.v." He seemed to think Panasonic had a special deal worked out with Sears. I told him that was not the case and the $250 discount applied to all t.v. 50" or over. It is not that big of deal but I just wanted the 60 day comfort of knowing that I can PM.

To answer the side note, they do not PM and honor 10% off coupons. At least that is the case here locally.

Most Sears stores do not carry many if any larger HDTV's in stock - their standard busines model is to have them shipped in within a few days once the customer has paid for the set. This is very different from a typical "out of stock" situation because there is virtually no uncertainty about receiving the item.

So BB does not honor their stated PM policy in all instances?

they dont have to honor anything. Period. If the price is too low...they will not sell it at a loss.

Don't forget that Sears is offering basic installation for the set at $139. Combine that with the $200 Rinstallarion rebate from Panny and you've saved another $60. I'm going to try a price match and then buy on my Sears CC and send in the rebate. Wish me luck!

I just picked up a local Sears circular and the price on this TV (TH-50PX75U) has dropped another $100. Org. $1999 - $500 instant savings = $1499. Take an additional $250 off with your Sears Card. Final price: $1249. This offer is good on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 2nd-3rd).

just came back and it was back up to 1599.00.. We bought it anyway. 1599 -250.00 for this set is just plain yum.

How long is Sears price match? 30 days?
