I wanted this TV yesterday (last day of the sales tax free holiday here), but I couldn't get the coupon. So I bought the Vizio at Circuit City instead. It's opened already, too.

DAMN IT!

Take that Vizio back.... It's not in the same league as the Panasonic.

How could I return it? It's already opened. PM me if you have any ideas. Thanks

I figured the PM plus a coupon would be a stretch- but I read somewhere on here that people have done it before. I figured it might be worth a shot, but only if the PM gets done first.

Has anyone sucessfully PM'ed to Sears when buying something at Circuit City?

I was at CC yesterday looking at the TV and mentioned the price to the employee and his manager approved it. I didn't buy it as I am still deciding between this and a Samsung but he told me the pricematch would be good through the end of the week.

They told me it was $60 for delivery.

well, the first thing i would ask myself is this:

1. will it fit in my truck? - the TV specs mean nothing when you include the heavy packaging on this baby (headroom in the back for 07 explorer is about 38 inches - i think it will just barely fit but you never know until you try
2. you will have to transport this UPRIGHT _and_ make sure it is 100% secure in that position - tiedown straps are best but stacking crates/junk to fill up the spaces will do.

argghhh...$65 is worth all that pain but if you have to do it, just be doubly careful and keep your wife and kids away from it until it's installed.

I'm going to be picking mine up at Sears. Do you have any recommendations on how to haul it home in a ford explorer?

ack.. it's free online. i wonder if cc has an online pricematching policy - i know Sears does.

The guy already told me he wouldn't be able to do the 10% pricematch on the price was to low as is. Once I decide between the Panasonic and Samsung I will get more aggresive with the stores. I believe Fry's has the Samsung for $1499 so the price difference doesn't matter.

Was this an open box special? You can return it. CC has a customer satisfaction guarantee. If you have the box, CC should take it back, without a restocking fee. Say it didn't fit your space. Didn't like the picture, etc.

This is their policy:

If you're not completely satisfied with a product, Circuit City will gladly exchange or refund the purchase within 30 days of the sale date, except as noted below.

If you return your merchandise to one of our stores, a credit will be issued to the credit card used for the original purchase. For merchandise purchased with a gift card as the sole payment method, we will refund the balance due to you back to a new gift card unless the balance is less than $5 or prohibited by law.

Here are some benefits of returning your purchase at a Circuit City store:

*
Convenience—We have more than 600 Circuit City Stores conveniently located throughout major markets.
*
Fast—We will process your return when you arrive at the store.
*
No Shipping Charges—You won't have to worry with preparing your product for shipping, locating the nearest UPS or FedEx drop-off site, or paying return shipping charges.
*
No waiting for your refund—Your credit will be immediately processed when your return is completed at the store.
*
Questions? We have knowledgeable, trained sales staff to answer your questions.
*
If you'd like to exchange your purchase—We have thousands of items to choose from and our sales associates can make sure you get the product that's right for you.

Return guidelines

*
Digital cameras, camcorders, desktop PCs, notebook PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, projectors, PDAs, mobile video, GPS and radar detectors must be returned within 14 days of the sale date, and (except where prohibited by law) are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned opened or in a non-factory sealed box.
*
Home theater seating must be returned within 14 days of the sale date, and (except where prohibited by law) are subject to a 25% restocking fee if returned opened or in a non-factory sealed box.
*
There is no restocking fee for defective product returned in exchange for the exact same product, or for product originally purchased as Open Box.
*
For any exchange or refund, we need the original receipt or a record of the purchase in our system, and the product must be in its original condition, including the box, UPC bar code, packaging, and all accessories.
*
Opened software, music, games, and movies may be exchanged for the same title only.
*
Charges for installation and delivery services are nonrefundable after the services have been performed.
*
Restocking fees do not apply to the return of a purchase made from a Hawaii address.
*
Circuit City is not responsible for contacting wireless carriers regarding changes or cancellations of your service plan.
*
For in-store purchases, refunds are issued in the original payment type. Refunds on check purchases less than 14 days old and in excess of $100 are issued by check from our corporate office within 14 days of the return date.

Looks like they will take it back without problem... It's not a monitor, it's a TV. It's not hometheater seating, it's a TV... Open Box stuff can be returned too. So give it a try.

Why did I see "TV" there the first tiem I read the return policy a couple of days ago?

Weird! Maybe I'll try it.

Premier, last week I returned an opened Vizio 42" plasma to CC with no problems. As EcoTony stated, CC has the 30 day return policy that includes TV's.

Good luck.

All of my Sears stores went OOS today of this TV. So I'll order it and pick it up in about 2 weeks. My CC 30 day return policy should still be in effect.

Same here. 2 to 3 weeks. Still no coupon for me.

Anyone have an email link that's valid?

Thanks for this post, no local Fry's here so couldn't PM that deal. Bought this TV nearly 2 months ago. Thank god I PM'd at BB on Monday, day 59 of 60 that BB allows for PM on HDTVs....saved myself nearly $300.

actually, it works out great that the price rose to $1699.
why?

bcoz now, the 15% discount applies to a bigger MSRP, $1699.
so the total should come to $1699 - $255 = $1445.
on this, if you use your Sears card, you definitely get $250 off which makes it $1195.
so, total price = $1195 + tax + delivery (if applicable).

so, the deal is still on, and even better...

As previously discussed, the $250 is already taken off the price you see in your cart, thus the best price today is $1445.

this should be a new game show, "are you smarter than a 2nd grader"
Question 1: he's says its cheaper because?

The answer is:

"bcoz now, the 15% discount applies to a bigger MSRP, $1699."

oh my god, you better not let your 2nd grade math teacher here about this. in fact, don't let let the county you grew up in know that you got your GED. It now explains how you don't have cash to buy this TV.

Sorry Charlie, he is actually right IF you can still get the $250 off for using your Sears card. I do not think so, but if it did work that way, it would be a bigger discount.

As I stated earlier, the $250 is already built into the cart price. You get the $250 discount no matter what card you use. You can't get it twice.

alert mods

as on the yellow brick road, i guess if you repeat "Sears card" just about 3 times, it will come true. the $250 instant discount never had anything to do with the Sears card (although it may now happen b/c gordita has chanted it a million times).

if you guys want to create your own little hypothetical discount scenerios, be my guest but really, you might just want to wait until 2010 to buy the TV, it'll be way cheaper then. in fact, i might be selling mine at that time, check in for desimond.com/offer discount.

Would someone who was successfully able to purchase this TV at $1450 - 15% post a scan of their receipt.
Or send it to me via PM, that would be most appreciated.
