Now I'm really pissed at me, I just figured out way prices have been adjusted this morning on the TVs. Sears ran an extra 10% off sale last night on mostly garden items, but the TVs slipped into the deal. According to other threads, you could have gotten an extra 10% off midnight to 6AM on TVs (some or most?). This morning when they removed the extra 10% off, they also removed the extra dollars off the TVs that they had on them this week. So, I did get the sale notice and I should have just double check the price last night. |

same as you. was just curious as to why the prices change to much for this tv. i guess they must be trying to clear these old models out. I suggested this one to my mom and she is insistent on a 1920 x 1080. I guess I'll have to keep my eye out for any good deals |

Tell your mom that unless she sits 3' away from the TV, she won't be able to tell the difference over the 1080P set. ScAndal |

ScAndal That's not true. At less than 8' or 9', you will likely be subject to screen door effect (SDE) in a 50" 720p TV, more so as you get closer. The Sweat spot for a 720p is 117" or over 10 feet. Whereas a 1080p screen is best around 78.5" or 6 1/2 feet. You start to loose the benefit of the 1080 at around 9', so if they are sitting that far away or more, you might as well go for the 720p 50" and save the bucks. HD Guru |

Very lame. You should have done what others did.. order anyway, call and get the 15% applied by stating you didn't get the email. I did, worked perfectly this morning after order late last night. If afraid that they wouldn't give it to you just cancel.

Oh, specific links? Well, check the reviews at Epinions, Amazon, Circuit City, Sears product pages. Or go to the AVSForums for lots of tech-heads giving detailed analysis of these and other plasma's.
ScAndal said:Yup I think you hit it right on the head. Clearing out old models. This model was just released about 5 months ago. This is their current model. Previous years they hold the same model for a year. New ones are demoed at the winter CES and released in the spring. The more likely issue is that the market is being flooded with flat panels, and with consumers spending less due to the market (note Wal-Mart's revised downward yearly estimates), the stores are forced to cut prices to move inventory. Yes this TV likely will be less on Black Friday, yes it will likely be more before then, thats the game stores play to move inventory and make money. Our job is to catch them at the lowest in the period of time you want it and just jump. |

Was able to jump on this deal, ordered Sunday and picked up the next day. Had to call CS to apply the 15% off. Got the email saying they've credited my a/c with the difference. After tax and CashBack, bottom line price is about $1240+. This tv is wicked! i love it! |
