Sears is currently selling PANASONIC TH-50PX75U 50" HDTV Plasma for $1,699.99+Tax.

Yesterday I did a price match for with PANASONIC TH-42PX75U 42" HDTV Plasma Frys.com [They are selling it for 1,099+Shiping] and took a printout of the frys.com shopping cart [don't add the shipping charge] and went to local Sears store [Costa Mesa, CA] and bought the TV for $1,089+Tax.

YOU CAN TRY THE SAME PROCEDURE FOR PANASONIC TH-50PX75U 50" HDTV PlasmA.

Price Match with 10% on the difference would bring the TH-50PX75U TV cost from $1,699.99 to $1,489+Tax and dont forget the Fatwallet 5% Cash Back $85.50

So the final price would be $1413.5+Tax.

Dont try to do a price match at CC or BB, they dont accept FRYS.com [Online store price match, they will price match only with local fry's store advt]. Sears sales folks are flexible, if you're nice with them.

All the Best

how do you get CashBack on a b&m purchase...

So you bought TWO Panasonic plasma TVs yesterday (a 42" and a 50")? Wow.

42" Thread

How would the picture quality compare to the Samsung LNT-4665? This is about $300 cheaper, but I've heard a lot of good things about the Sammy...

salehdidit: You buy it online for instore pickup and then try to do the pricematch. Hope you have a good credit limit.

dhodory: He bought the 42", but he's saying that the same method could be applied to the 50".

I bought 42" and my brother bought 50". It worked for both for us. Better you guys try it out ONLY at Sears.....not at CC or BB

Login into Fatwallet and go to this link.
http://www.fatwallet.com/cash-back-coupons/Sears

Click on "5.0% Cash Back Rebate Available" link which will take you to Sears website. order it online and go to the local store with frys.com shopping cart printout and your receipt. Do the price match..and take your TV

Best of Luck

If it a reasonable price difference, they wil accept it. If you try to play around with HTML and do price match for diffference of $400 then they will call the local fry's store and make the process more complex.................

Dont be too GREEDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wonder if you could mark it down to something like $1399 and then go from there.

Also, what is the Sears protection plans like? If I'd be getting something like this, I'd definitely want a good plan to protect my TV. And supposedly Sears has always been known for great care -- my girlfriend's parents bought a dishwasher that malfunctioned after like 4 months and they sent like 4 repair guys (free) and then eventually just allowed them to swap it out with another dishwasher without cost of a different brand for the same price.

Any ideas?

You can do HTML editing and take a printout, but i wont advice you do that. It is too risky...

I bought the protection plan for $400, for 3 years. But you can always cancel the plan within 11 months so that you can get the $400 money back from Sears.

I'll cancel the plan on the 10th month and get the money back, or if something happens to teh TV within the 10 months. I'm covered. So i'm not losing anything....

THIS IS MY FIRST POST ON FATWALLET...PLEASE ENCOURAGE. THANKS

For those of you in the East coast, the 42px75u is avaliable at Boscov's for $999

Just wanted to let you guys know that Frys in San Diego now has the 50PX75U for $1499 IN STORE. It was in the San Diego Union Tribune circular. That opens up every B&M with price matching. Use your American Express and get 2 years warranty. If you want an extended warranty, which might be a good idea on a big ticket item, check out tapeworkstexas for a 4 year MACK warranty for about $130.

NOTE:
The prices on these sets are dropping fast. I am sitting on the fence right now and might just wait until the MSRP drops and the discounters follow with even lower prices. Panasonic just announced their 11th generation Plasmas in Japan, so they should be here in the beginning of next year. That means every current model is going to be blown out for Christmas. The 1080p models look very nice, and are more future proof/compatable with PC's. Not that these 75u's don't look good... they are amazing.

Got one a month age for $1638. It's amazing!!! Get it if you can.

You are correct sir.... fixed.

on panasonics site (linked above) it says it is 1080p but states native resolution is 1366 x 768?

The TH-xxPX75U's are 720p (768) native resolution. They will accept 1080p/i, and then deinterlace it and then scale it for the 768 panel. The TH-xxPZ700U's are the 1080p panels.

These have 10,000:1 contrast ratios. The 700U's have 5,000:1 contrast. Some argue that contrast ratio is much more important than the resolution, especially when you are sitting over 8 feet away from a 50" screen.

I feel like a dunce but I can't find the FW cash. I ordered the Panasonic 50" but now where does the 5% Cash Back show. What am I doing wrong. I have already ordered it.

Never mind. I figured out how it works.

this YMMV I tried at Sears at South Coast and the sales ppl refused to match online store price. I ended up just go with frys.com - really fast delivery and excellent TV!

This unit has dropped to $1450 at Sears, so with 15% coupon and Cash Back it is around $1170. Now we are talking.

JJA said: JJA said: ...There is a link here on FW to sign up for the coupon.

do you know where the link is - that will really help. I tried searching in the Cash Back & Coupons section for the 15% Sears coupon, but couldn't find it... TIA

never mind, i got the link in another post.. here...

Just used today's $1449 price. With 15% coupon my cost is $1177 +$65 delivery + tax. Makes it a GREAT deal.

Edit: Forgot to subtract the FW 5% Cash Back I will get. Take off another %75.

This is insane!
i bought a 42px75u from CC for $1125+tax and then went and exchanged it for the anti-glare 42px77u for $1235 + tax + $60 delivery charge.
so in the end, i ended up paying almost $1400 including tax and delivery.
as luck would have it, the 77u has not been delivered. it is out of stock.

i wonder if I should cancel it and order the 50" from Sears.

i did sign up for the 15% coupon but nothing in my email as yet. i think i signed up this monday/tuesday or something.

one thing i will advise is, please take the anti-glare thing seriously. at first, i did not but when u bring it home and u can see your own reflection and the window reflection, it's a downer.
especially bcoz i will be watching football during the daytime.

i really want the 50 incher, but any faster way to obtain the Sears coupon?
on the Sears website, there is also a free delivery option or something (maybe for Sears card holders only)AND there is a $250 instant rebate if u sign up for the card but not the 0% financing.

so can u do this deal, $1450 - $217.5 ( %15 coupon) - $250 instant rebate for new Sears card app
= $983 + $60 delivery + tax

is this possible?

What's everyone's take on the 77u anti-glare compared to the 75u? I was sold on the 42" 77U mostly for the anti-glare at $930, but this 50" without that feature is only $240 more. Too bad they do not have the 50" 77U model for $340 more. I've looked at both side by side and the 77U does reflect less light, but it still has a reflection.

Frustrating, still haven't got the 15% coupon six days after I signed up.

This would be a done deal for me if I could get the %15 code....

gurrrr.

same.

the somewhat good news is, the Sears $1450 price is valid till Aug 18th....
gives us a fighting chance to get the 15% coupon...is there anyone here who is not using the 15% coupon, that would be much appreciated!!

mine took about 10 days. the price of this TV is not going up - unless you really need it fast, patience will a great price.

i bought mine yesterday with the 15% coupon and dealpass 20%off gift cards (landsends will work too). I just sent an email to request a price adjustment.

The 15% Sears email does not include a real coupon or code, just a link. But the link did not work for me so I emailed the customer service dept and got the following reply:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting Sears.

We apologize for the difficulties that you have experienced with trying
to place an order using the 15% savings coupon we sent to you. Please
place your order as is and once the order has gone through please email
us the order number and we will issue the 15% savings for you. Again, we
do apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused for you.

After I placed my order, I emailed the order number to customer service and received a credit immediately.

That looks like a good way to get the 5% FW Cash Back when you place your order.

Or try this use the fat Cash Back 5% Sears link to go to Sears.com, then add the item to your cart, next copy the 15% link from the Sears email into the open browser address bar then chick it, your item will still be in the cart, and you will see the 15% off as you checkout. No guarantee that this will get you the 5% cask back, but it's worth a try.

I haven't pull the tigger yet, but my total with taxes, shipping and Cash Back would have been around $1348, not bad. IF only this was the TH-50PX77U model with the PC input I would be all over this deal.

ok. i logged into my work account and lo and behold, saw the Sears coupon in the inbox.
I went to order the tv through the link and reached all the way to the submit order page, yet do not see the 15% discount applied.

I also would like to apply for a Sears card and receive the $250 off but nowhere at the checkout screen does it give me this option.
so how do i proceed?
any thoughts?

i'm confused on this $250 off for using Sears card...
when you go to check out, it basically says the 1450 price is after savings, you click on 'savings' and the 1450 price is after 250 off of regular price of 1700...so i'm thinking the 250 is already deducted in the 1450 price...am i reading this right? there's no way to know unless you complete the purchase?

yes, I found this out this morning.

it seems it's already deducting the instant $250 from the $1700 price to give us a $1450 price.
then, the 15% discount does apply.
after this, we still have to pay tax and delivery.

also, what if I pay with a mastercard, will that void the $1450 price? has anyone tried this?
I was all gung ho about the extra $250 discount which would have brought the price down to an insane 1000 + tax and delivery.
but at $1233 + $65 + tax, my wife will not let me upgrade from my existing 42"
oh well....

I was scratching my head with that too... That would make this a crazy sweet deal with the additional $250 off.

Anyone go through with the order? I guess we could try, and then cancel after. Anyone willing to try?

yea it says:
"Ultimate Football Instant $250 Rebate. Reduction applied at cart."
so the 1450 appears to already have the 250 off in it. however, what if you wanted the 24 months financing deal instead? also, i'm guessing you can use any credit card and thus get your 1% or 1.5% $back that way also. so the best i can come up with is maybe $1215+tax. it also says free delivery but charges $65 for me..

So annoying.

I wanted this TV yesterday (last day of the sales tax free holiday here), but I couldn't get the coupon. So I bought the Vizio at Circuit City instead. It's opened already, too.

DAMN IT!

I had the same coupon issue, so I emailed customer service and got the same response.

I order my TV today, but it wont be delivered until 8/30! Maybe the price will drop even further by then

Thanks OP for the heads up.

Take that Vizio back.... It's not in the same league as the Panasonic.
