Nice deal. I got one of these last time and hooked up a cordless phone. Works great, unless my wife forget's that I'm on and shuts the computer down... Might have to get another for a gift. |

Actually talked to the CSR, he said they will honor the rebate. However, the rebate will be adjusted by deducting the coupon amount. Say your coupon reduced the price by 1.50, they will send a check for 18.5. |

This is what happened last time... good company. Instead of having customers cancel and rebuy they honor the rebate. dealsonly said:Actually talked to the CSR, he said they will honor the rebate. leoleonleo said:I am sorry being dumb in here. I just really don't understand how this work without purchasing sky-out minutes. First I plug the regular home phone into this adapter and hook up the adapter to the PC. Then, can I use the regular home phone to make long distance call or international call for free? (I don't have long distance call or international call service on my current telephone carrier or Skype account) Thanks Where were you early this year? I think some of us already have unlimited Skype out for $15 a year. I had mine setup with VoSKY call center alone with Staples FAR phone. Do youself a favor, goto FS link for 12%FC and purchase unlimite Skype out for $30 a year. This would give you great phone calls saving with OP's adapter. IMO, Belkin WiFi phone its much better because you can use it anywhere without PC. If you just want to use it for PC to PC calls, this is not what you need. |

Might have to get another for a gift. How's the voice quality of this device? Does it disconnected often? When I read reviews of similar brand name devices, a lot of them have disconnect problem. |

You might want to google this... I think, like Linux, there were some open source projects being developed. dealwatcher2003 said:has anybody tested this with gizmoproject?Does it work?Just signed up for that.Want to add in minutes so that I can route my GC # to my gizmo account and if this phone rings, sweet! |

is there anything out there that is an RJ11 adapter to my router that I can plug my landline phone to? I don't want to buy another phone like the CIT400 does and I don't want to have an adapter hooking to my USB port. The problem with Skype is I cannot use it when I'm on VPN, which is when I need to use conference call. |

Not yet... the only pc-less solutions for Skype are DECT phones and WiFi phones. daversion said:dumb question (because everyone would probably be doing it if it were possible). is there an adapter like this that doesn't need a computer always on? |

Ok, I know this is late in the thread but can someone help me with a question: I currently have Vonage ($24.95 or so a month unlimited) using a Linksys WRT54G wireless router over my Comcast Broadband. I have heard alot about Skype etc and was wondering if it could replace my Vonage. Some of the items mentioned here are intriguing like the 101 unit mentoned earlier in the thread. What can I do for cheaper and maybe more efficiently. One of the concerns is losing the E991 feature of Vonage. What do you recommend. Do the WIFI phones really work with something like Skype |

In 4 1. Thanks OP. I just hope that Skype offers the 1/2 deal that they had last year when they went from free to a actual service. |

Ok, I have a Skype account, and I want to be able to call Friends in Brazil, India and China who also have Skype accounts, So my main goal is to be able to talk to these friends for free, Can I use this or one of the PC-Less devices to talk to these friends for Free? Does Skype have any restrictions on calling other Skype members in other countires? Is there any alternative solution for what I'm trying to achieve? TIA
