Got in last time... rebate took 4 weeks, but it came through..

Skype Adapter for PC or Macs(less than $20 after rebate)

Rebate Form

EDIT: Price went up.

I got one of these last time and have it hooked to a multi-line phone and it works great. Got my rebate too.

Edit - make that a multi-handset phone.

You made the adapter work on more than one line?

Let me change that to multi-handset phone, sorry.

No worries... my house is new and the way they did the wiring (beyond my tech expertise) I hooked up the B2K directlty to the wall jack and all my phones in the house can use Skype.

Does it work with VoIP services, like internetcalls ?

This requires your computer to be on all the time, correct? (connects to USB).

It works with Yahoo, MSN, and some SIP based like SJPhone and CounterPath... it is a Yealink product, and you can find all compatiable services at their website.

So, basically if I have X-Pro working with my USB phone (AU-100), this should work as well ?
Sorry for noob question, but this phone advertised as Skype phone, I was wondering if I can use it for "real" voip

doubletake said: This requires your computer to be on all the time, correct? (connects to USB).

Yep - it does require computer to be on and connected. If your computer is off - you would still be able to receive PSTN calls.

thanks for the deal.. Apparently works under linux too. This gives me so many ideas

Not much, but don't forget the 5% coupon ("alien") as shown on their website.

wkc said: Not much, but don't forget the 5% coupon ("alien") as shown on their website.

Read the rebate terms it says u can use website coupons or other promotions in combination also you have to make an account on the website i.e. you cant use google checkout etc

I actually tried to use Google checkout. It did not work at all. Says "oooops"

Last time, I used the coupon but they didnt unvalidate the rebate... they just sent the difference so that the total equalled the rebate amount.

they have a great deal on the netgear SPH101 after $50 rebate ($119.88) this is a pc free solution, works as long as your wireless connection is up. or from any wireless hotspot! It has internal memory to hold the Skype software, account info, and phone list.

Sweet! I got a 10% coupon code in my email box after I placed the first order! This makes the 101 deal smokin.

I would give out the code, but it says "One time use only" on it.

Thanks!

That's odd. I read the terms, and it says "u CANNOT" combine discounts... One of us is in the Twilight Zone. Gosh, I sure hope it isn't me.

COOOL! even better!! Now where did i put that Amazon GC?!?!?!

Reviews on Amazon don't seem that good, 2.5 out of 5 stars. Maybe consider the linksys CIT400, its 114.99 shipped after rebate and has 4.5 out of 5 stars, but its not wi-fi, only works at home. hmmmmm what to do ......

If you have the appropriate phone, do not forget about iSkoot (www.iskoot.com). I use it on my Treo 650 and use it for all my Int'l calls when I am away from my desk, it works great! You can even set it to receive Skype calls.

One minor problem - SOMETIMES the phone call itself is not crystal clear but more often than not it's good to go.

Alright... anyone else see a deal that would work with the 10% coupon (after first order)... that would be hot.

Maybe the SMC WiFi with W1DL (get Verball for free) and (2) P1Ks (with Rebates) minus 10%... that way it gets above $200 and get the free 500 minutes and voicemail?

Reviews are not good though and it seems that Linksys CIT400 Dual-Mode Internet Telephony Kit with Integrated Skype is a better buy for $114.99.

hey, I only got a 7% off coupon

Check your invoice... 10% coupon is there.

We are saying the same things
There is no use buying netgear SPH101 as according to reviews you cannot use it outside anyway due to lack of authentication etc.

I agree, but its not wi-fi and cant be used at hot spots. what about the linksys wip320? its 144.88 at amperor, but 89.99 shipped at Amazon and has 3/5 stars.

Correct, but most hot spots here in Springfield are unsecured. the whole downtown area gets wifi with no need for authentication. but thats here, i'm not sure how other city's offer wifi. and in some places you have to get the key to get on and without the ability to enter that key, yes, it would be useless.

Can't you do all this and more with a Linksys WRT-54GS with 3rd party firmware installed (DDWRT, OPENWRT, etc.)? Pick one up easy for $70.

Nah... Skype is a closed P2P network... it doesnt work with those adapters..

I have 2 rules about internal company-fulfilled rebates:

1. Dont do it.
2. Refer to Rule 1.

AMP Direct is a five star company out of texas. they are a Amazon seller too. for those with the cheap AU100 phone, Do yall use the 3rd party dialer software? if so, are there updates?

This company, if THEY offer it, it is a great chance to be paid.

now an OD brother rebate is diff story. tommorrow my OD,BROTHER,Parago rebate nightmare begins. I'm fixin to start raisin some cain. they claim no mail. BS

I generally have the same rule... but they are beyond active in the Skype Forum and they already sent me a rebate check...

I am in.

For the Mac folks in the audience, this is on their site:
"Note: Recent support contacts have indicated that Yealink products are not fully compatible with Intel processor-based Mac systems, and sometimes will not behave properly with some G5 systems. We are working with Yealink to try and track down the cause of the problems so they may fix them, so keep checking back for more updates."

I'm using AU-100+ATCOM USB Dialer+XPro. Works perfect for 2 incoming+2 outgoing account. But AU-100 is corded USB phone

WHAT are you referring to?

Looks like I didn't hit the "quote" button after all. I was asking about jonnashville's question regarding the UPC required for rebate. jonnashville subsequently PM'd me that the silver barcode is actually the required UPC.
