This week's (8/19/07-8/25/07) Best Buy in-store ad shows the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive add-on (with Universal Remote & King Kong HD-DVD) for $179.99 with a free copy of "300" HD-DVD. If you were planning to get a copy of 300 anyway, this makes the deal good for B&M. This would still be eligible for the 5 free HD-DVD movies. I know you can get it cheaper elsewhere, but there's something to be said for walking into a Best Buy and walking out with this.
Think this would be eligible to do some kind of price match to get 300 for free. I got my XBOX 360 HD player from Best Buy for $149 (w. in store pick up) a couple weeks ago?

Yes return your DVD player you bought for $149.99 re purchase it for $179.99 and you will get 300 FREE!
BB said to get free 300, I need to return the one I bought before (used 10% coupon and final price is $161.99) and just re-purchase the player again but need to pay the regular price $179.99.
Concerning the price for 300 is $34.99 now, I think it is still a good deal for me to do the re-purchase (BB said I just need to bring the receit not the palyer to go their customer service).
Since I have sent my rebate form for 5 free HD DVD out, I don't know if the re-purchase will impact my 5 HD DVD rebate.
Did this "just bring the recept" crap when I price gaurenteed my 360 Eleite and sure enough, needed the actual machine there for serial number. PAIN IN MY BUTT
The creator of the graphic novel 300, Frank Miller, is kinda creepy, too. I think he's a Nazi in disguise. Check out his interview on NPR. It's still a cool movie, but I hope they don't make Frank Miller's next book "Batman vs Al Qaeda" into a movie, too. That'd be just lame.
Newegg $174 - i used a $20 off paypal coupon (newsletter) which got it to 154+ 7 shipping http://www.Newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874103051

I just did this price match. I had gotten the HD-DVD drive at the $149 in store pickup deal a couple of weeks back, and then in anticipation of the free 300 HD-DVD offer, had picked up the movie last week. Today I took both receipts in, and the nice CSR rep did a return rebuy for me with the price of the HD-DVD drive at the original $149 price (receipt shows a $30 match competitor discount on the dive). Prior to letting the CSR perform the return rebuy I just clarified that I would get the same price on the HD-DVD drive. YMMV of course. HD-DVD drive plus seven free movies = sweet deal.
I came in here just to post this; definately good news for us HD DVD owners. I've been saying the cheaper players are going to turn more studios in the HD DVD direction. Can't wait until Transformers is released on HD DVD!
