We did this Sunday morning. They probably said they were still available because people that reserved the TVs online didn't pick them up yet.

so were you lucky enough to actually get one in your hands, or are you on order?

I can't add it to my cart because it's out of stock and when I add it for pick-up it comes out to $1,699. Will they still see somehow an online price of $1235?

Yeah. Me and my friend both got one from Best Buy doing the Price match.

Great price for this unit, but 1080p on a 40" is pointless unless you plan on watching from 2 feet away... or use it as a PC monitor.

To paraphrase Nigel Tufnel, "These go to 1080p."

I've this at home. It is good for 1080p if you are viewing about 10 ft away. For less than 1080p, it's suitable for viewing 10-18 ft away.

It'd be stupid to use this purely as a PC monitor because there are so many features that you won't need and your eyes cannot stand that big of a screen 2-3 feet away.

BTW, Amazon.com has this for ~1350 shipped, no tax. Don't have to hassle with Sears, sign up credit card, or borrow a truck/mini van to carry it home.

Samsung LNT4016 is for $1299 on Frys website.

Not sure about B&M.

IF they have in B&M, can Sears do PM and also allow $150 promotion?

Did anyone get the 15% coupon applied?
I haven't got the coupon yet in the email after signing up for a week. Called Sears CSR (a nice lady) said she'll apply the 15% to the order but it'll take 3-4 days for credit dept. to confirm. Is it true or was the SCr tried to get me off the fone?
The TV is ready for pickup at B&M

I did the same thing. My credit came through in the time she described. You should be set! I think the people at Sears.com are very helpful...

Looks like it is out of stock online...

I added this TV to the cart for in-store pick-up and it shows up as 1699. Is anyone still getting this at 1299-150 or is the deal dead ?

D-E-A-D. As stated before in this thread, the deal was just from 5pm yesterday to 6am this morning for their Friends & Family event.

So anyone had any grief from the local Sears store? The story I am getting is that since Sears.com thought my order will be fulfilled through stock that doesn't exist at my local store (where it thought there was stock),that my order will be automatically canceled in 2 weeks. I am being told I will have to cancel the order in the store and try to place a store reservation, and the manager will have to approve the price...which is 700 dollars less than they sell local...THink I am out of luck folks?

Wanted it day before but they were oos, and local stores were too, except for one a bit far. Anyways, I waited, and after the price went up i thought it would be over. It was not.

Placed order online @ Sears.com for store pick up at the new price
called .com, PM frys with 10% difference.
Went to Sears to pick up( by the way that computer pick up thing is freaky)
Put tv in my car
went to electronics told them I want the $150 promotion.
Refunded original order @ full amount
Rerung it up called Sears.com for frys pm and asked if $150 could also be used.
the supervisor was pretty furious, but allowed it after awhile. The cs rep from .com said the $150 was upto them, but frys pm is a must match they have to do it.
Anyways brand new 40 sammy for just over 1k, also when I called for .com she pm'd frys without tax/shipping, so $1257 straight.

hope that helps

40" 1080P 10-18ft? There is no need for 1080P if your viewing a 40" at 10ft away.

went through so much trouble to try to get these TV... ended up empty handed after all my attempts.

So I went to Sears in Washington Square to see the TV sunday afternoon. Everything looked legit and I was prepared to come back at 6:00PM to buy the TV. I came back at 6:00PM and the TV was sold out and I did not want to wait three weeks for the TV so I tried to go to Circuit City to see if they can pricematch 110% the Sears price. The Circuit City was sold out also and I told them to look up what other Circuit City had the TV in stock. They showed me the Jantzen Beach store had two and I looked at the price on the computer and it said 1299.99 and I asked if that was the actual price and the guy said I guess so. So if I could get the TV for 1299.99 + 10% AAA coupon then that wouldn't be so bad since its in this week's circular for 1499.99. Anyway I call the Jantzen Beach store the next day and no one would answer so I called another Circuit City store to see if they could check the stock again to make sure, and again the person said the price was 1299.99 over the phone. I get to Jantzen Beach at 8:00 and ask them if they have any in stock, they said yep but the price on the computer screen was 1499.99

Someone else can check if their Circuit City is selling it for 1299.99

I canceled my order with Sears and had them apply the 10% and my 15% coupon to a different model TV. SEemed to work ok..except, the Sears local and Sears.com arent communication well. I know my local Sears has 3 in stock, and Sears.com was told by local they were sold out.
