Got an email in the email from them. They said 20% off their warranties until 9/5 with the code "school"

I have no experience with their warranty b/c I never had to use it before. I did buy their warranty twice. I bought a LCD TV off the internet and warranty was $80 for 3 years. I also bought a DLP TV and the 3 year warranty was $120 for 3 years.

These warranties are all fraud. They won't honor anything when you need service. There are zillion loop holes to not to cover.

Hmm... very tempted to get this on my Acer laptop from the Staples "Crazy 50" deal...

Can't say whether I just got lucky or not but they did cut a 65 dollar check for a used cell phone I purchased on eBay that went bad after six months. It was clearly a mechanical issue was not fixable according to them and was not a accident or water damage.

they extended this (same code) through Sunday.

i am skeptical of these sorts of warranties, but the Amazon reviews of SquareTrade are pretty fantastic. i picked one up for a recent, expensive, eBay mobile phone purchase.

Hmm...44 of the 102 reviews on Amazon were posted during the past 30 days. Isn't it kinda fishy? Maybe a SquareTrade employee is padding the positive reviews?

Anybody actually filed a claim and received check?

hhmmm.. 44/100 ? the other 54 were in the previous two months... because that's when they first offered it.

SquareTrade Warranty for eBay purchases

SquareTrade Warranty for non-eBay purchases

I bought a warranty on my Verizon 6700 that I bought used on eBay. One of those Amazon reviews are from me.

I sent it in after the phone stopped working and they sent me a paypal payment of the full eBay purchase amount (minus the shipping costs for me to send the phone to them for review which was around $5). That's my one and only experience with them but it was very positive. They didn't try to squirm out of paying. There were dings on the phone when I got the refurb off of eBay but that didn't cause any problems. I was very pleasantly surprised. It was nice seeing the $184 credit to my paypal account. Not bad for $19 worth of warranty. Their warranty costs about 10% of the cost of the item.

You don't by any chance work for BB or CC, do you?

That is a sweet deal, thanks, just used the code to get a warranty on a used laptop. They also offer a 2nd year of coverage at 50% of year 1 cost (all stackable), so in the end I got 2 years of coverage at 15% of used item cost
