I've been doing some searching recently and this is a great deal I've come across.

I found a web host with great reviews - www.webhostingbuzz.com
Reviews at: http://www.hostsearch.com/review/webhostingbuzzcom_review.asp

Their pricing is great:
No Setup Fee
300GB Storage, 2TB Transfer, 1 Domain: $2.95/Month
375GB Storage, 2.5TB Transfer, 2 Domains: $4.95/Month
750GB Storage, 5TB Transfer, 5 Domains: $6.95/Month
(All prices for 24 mo contracts)

Prices are before a 25% coupon code: webhostingbuzz

Hopefully this will help some fw'ers like me looking for a simple, cheap hosting service.

As has been mentioned many times, e-rice.net prices start at $5 per YEAR and are quite adequate for many hosting needs.

(I am not affiliated with them in any way except for having many sites hosted there).

You can't really compare the two...

The real great value is in the OP's webhost. Even though it might be oversold.

While that is a good deal, I guess my post is targeted at those looking for a little more and a complete package. Thus including DNS name services through the same provider.
Much different bandwidth and storage restrictions between the 2.
Compare the e-price $30 package and you get 300MB storage, vs. 750GB storage.
That's $60 for 2 years vs. $122 for 2 years. for $122, you get many more features, unlimited e-mail, etc. You get 25x the storage capacity for twice the price. You also get 5 domain names included versus none.
There's really no comparison.

Thanks OP. Price is good.
Google apps is also a good choice if you only want to setup emails for your own domain. It doesn't provide web hosting, but it is free

You're not going to get that much actual storage or bandwidth. The server will error out and you'll be kicked off for using too much resources. Typical in a shared hosting environment that oversells with ridiculous plans.

Are you speaking from experience with this particular host? Most of us understand the way overselling works, but while all hosts oversell not all kick you off for using too much (I've heard stories of people being moved to higher-capacity servers within a host for using too much resources). If you've experienced something with this host, I'd love to hear about it. But if you're just saying that all overselling hosts are bad, that sounds a lot like FUD.

And I also used e-rice.net. Granted, it's not nearly in the same league as this host as far as advertised capacities, but they're are second to none in service and reliability. I really loved being hosted with them when I used them, and now I'm on a bigger host that always has weekly 10-20 minute downtime and bad service, and I wish I'd stayed. Oh well.

Use common sense. A host like that may have 300 users on it. One user who sucks up too much resources is going to get bounced. They are not interested in customer service with you. They only care about the 99% of the users who only consume 100mb a month.
Frankly, trying to defend this any further draws suspicion that you're self-promoting the site.

Honestly, I'm trying to keep this board about deals, not unfounded opinions. I agree, most "too good to be true" sites are too good to be true, and I've heard about stories just like the one you describe (a user that takes too many resources gets "fired"). I've also heard of stories that some hosting companies expect to loose money on some users, but overall they make so much more on the others that it's worth their while to keep all of them. Myself personally, I'm using hostmonster (aka bluehost, aka many other things) and have to say I'm not impressed with them. If I do move, I'll probably move to GoDaddy since I've heard much better things about them. I do recommend e-rice, they're the best I've had so far.

But enough from the both of us; neither of us has had experience with the hosting company in question, and that's the real issue here. Has anyone had experience with webhostingbuzz.com? Any thoughts or opinions on them?

The giveaway is in the specs listed in the OP. There's no way a person is going to have that much storage or bandwidth at these prices. Even low priced dedicated servers (~ 80-100 month) don't give you that. I'm not at all familiar with e-rice but the specs that have been stated indicate it is entirely a realistic sustainable amount and on that alone I would go with them.

I agree. I'm fairly sure that wholesale bandwidth can't be bought in those quantities for the prices listed in OP. Would you really want to host your site on a server that had so many other sites expecting to use that much bandwidth?

The questions y'all raise are all valid, and the reason I didn't go with www.imhosted.com ... similar prices and bandwidth advertised, but constant customer service issues and outages.

This place (at least for now) appears to have very good ratings. That's why I included the reviews in my OP.

And honestly... I'd rather be with someone that oversells me 5TB than one that's only claiming to get 500MB bandwidth... I'm sure I wouldn't get all of it either.

I have had an account with WebHostingBuzz for about six months, and have not had any significant problems with them. So far WebHostingBuzz's uptime and general reliability have been excellent, and they've responded promptly to my service requests.

Like most users, I don't come close to maxing out the space and bandwidth (traffic) quotas -- I doubt that I use much more than 1% of either most of the time (aggregating all of the sites I have hosted with them). So, I really can't tell you what would happen to a customer who regularly maxes out the quotas -- except that I doubt it would be a problem if this happened only occasionally. (That's a key benefit of a shared hosting arrangement: the sites tend to hit their demand peaks at different times. Kind of like having a cable modem in a neighborhood where everyone else works different hours than you do.)

I almost signed up, then I found these reviews http://www.vistainter.com/reviews/W/webhostingbuzz.com/
Because one must sign up for 2 years to get the deal, I am not willing to risk it.

Just an update, been with WHB for a couple of months now and all is great!
Still just running a small site, but I've had absolutely zero issues.

Am I missing something, or has the price shot up quite a bit since the OP?
