Strategies, hints, add-ons, and more to AoMThanks! I've played AOE, but never AOM. This guide should make the game easier to understand... especially since this AOM + Expansion pack DOESN'T include a full manual... just an installation guide. FYI - It did say that the manuals are pdf's on the disc - not as convenient, but they should be there. They are on the disk, but they are not that useful. Both are missing a lot, a lot of information. A site like that should be a lot more helpful. The tutorial went into basics only. My gripe so far - why are all units so similar? I can barely tell one building from another and one unit from another. I hate to say anything good about Blizzard, but I think their building and unit graphics were a lot more helpful. Here, all I see is indistinguishable tiny humanoids in same blue tunics running among indistinguishable buildings. |

Thanks for the heads up. I picked up the last copy at my store yesterday. Seems like a pretty cool game and way to waste lots more of my time. I agree though, the graphics are disappointing after just finishing up Warcraft III and the Starcraft games for a second time. Seems like there could be more depth in this game though, and it is going to be interesting to see how the upgrades through the ages work. |

I still play warcraft III , it has incredible replay value if u play online. I have been hooked on Dota for a year now, a custom game online via battlenet with warcraft III. Very addicting. |

Awesome price. I just picked this up at my local cc at $4.99 + tax. luckily for me, the stock people didn't know the game, so they took longer than 24 min. Therefore, cc actually paid me like $19 to take this game. Always wanted to pick it up, but not for $20. Best deal... |

Strategies, hints, add-ons, and more to AoM Great game - and I also recomend Heaven games as a resource to learn the game.. Why should you take my recommendation - I was one of the play testers who helped balance the game.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: VALUSOFT & UBISOFT SHIPPED SAME CD KEYS WITH "AOM: THE TITANS"! Upon installation of this game, every time I tried to play multiplayer online via ESO, I always got this error "Your CD key cannot currently be validated. Please wait for a few minutes and try again." At first I thought it was just because ESO was buggy or down, but after a few days I found out that VALUSOFT & UBISOFT ARE SHIPPING ALL COPIES OF "AOM: THE TITANS" WITH THE SAME CD KEY! THIS MAKES ALL VALUSOFT & UBISOFT COPIES OF "AOM: THE TITANS" UNPLAYABLE ON ESO DUE TO SIMULTANEOUS USE OF MULTIPLE IDENTICAL KEYS (although all the other functions of the game still works). Luckily... someone before me figured this problem out and posted a solution here: It was brought to our attention a few months ago that every new version of AoM:Gold Edition had the same CD key, so you couldn't go online. Now the problem has been solved!
Thank you for your patience. We recently received the New Product ID Codes from Microsoft. In order to ensure you receive the proper key please provide us with the P/N (#####) from the front of the Age Of Mythology CD. Once we receive your information we will Mail you your new Product ID Code. You will need to Uninstall and Reinstall the Game when you receive the New Product ID Code to be able to enter the New Product ID Code. Please provide us with:
- The P/N (#####/1) from the front of the CD
- Your Full Name and Mailing Address
Send an email to Valusoft Support including this message, and the information request above to receive your new key. Email: tech@valusoft.com website: www.valusoftsupport.com (Full thread: http://aom.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=ct&f=1,25758,0,365) (Borrowed from website: http://aom.heavengames.com/) NOTE: The information above is relevant for ALL ValuSoft distributed "AOM: The Titans" games... NOT UBISOFT! To get a UNIQUE PRODUCT ID KEY for an UBISOFT distributed game, you will have to contact THEIR technical support department and follow THEIR instructions. You can find out which company distributed your game by looking at the back cover of the included manual.
EDIT: I can't believe that this issue wasn't publicized by anyone! It started EARLIER THAN MARCH 2007... and 6 MONTHS LATER IT'S STILL HAPPENING (with no plans from ValuSoft to "permanently correct" the problem and package "AOM: The Titans" with UNIQUE Product ID Keys)! I HATE it when companies play "innocent" and take NO proactive steps to correct the problem, even though they know it's there!!! I am SO going to MAKE THEM SHIP ME A BRAND NEW MANUAL (since I had to tear the back cover off mine) AND REIMBURSE ME SHIPPING ($0.41)!
EDIT2: So far I have personally confirmed this with 7 people that also got in on this deal that ALL OUR CD KEYS ARE THE SAME and WE ALL GET THE SAME "ERROR" MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO GO ON ESO. ValuSoft admitted the "mistake", and has agreed to supply us with 7 UNIQUE Product ID Keys so we can play "AOM: The Titans" on ESO. |

chronotrigger said:I rarely finish the single-player campaign of RTSes, but this one kept me going till the end. For that, I will recommend it to others also.
And like others said, this is the original + expansion. If you don’t get it for yourself, at least think of the person in your life who might like it as an upcoming Christmas gift. Even older games are good if they are new to the person. Like me Great name chrono... another great video game....

EDIT3: After contacting ValuSoft and explaining the situation, I followed their instructions and went through their procedure for getting NEW, NON-UNIFORM, UNIQUE Product ID Keys, and waited for a week for the NEW Product ID Keys to arrive. I then uninstalled, and reinstalled AOM and its expansion with the NEW Product ID Keys ValuSoft sent me, and now Multiplayer on ESO works perfectly. No more "Your CD key cannot currently be validated. Please wait for a few minutes and try again." error! Although I am still ticked at the hassle I had to go through in order to get what I rightfully paid for (ie: a fully functioning game... INCLUDING multiplayer on ESO), at least it's 100% WORKING game now. Hope everyone else gets this problem resolved successfully, like I did! |
