Same question here. Has anyone got a link to purchase in your email? I haven't got any email from that site.

We might not get an email if our email doesn't end in .edu

Find a friend, family or neighbor who has a college student in the family and offer them a $10 Itunes card in exchange for using their email address. Not the most ethical way, but MS charging $679 for non-students isn't exactly ethical either!

From the Terms & Conditions:

"Microsoft or an appointed vendor may contact you to verify that you are a current student. If documentation is not provided indicating that you are a current student, you will be liable to reimburse Microsoft for the full retail cost of the software ($679)"

I wonder if they would actually try to verify that you're a current student and charge you $679 if you couldn't prove it.

It's probably an empty threat. But if they want to do that, I can always fax them a copy of my ID. It gets trickier if you're "borrowing" an email address.

Try enrolling your kid in a community college class that only meets on the weekend.

I will not pay any penny to MS. This should be free. If MS include a hottie, then I will consider getting one.
