Thanks. I might get up early and drive to slidell to see if they have the sale going on there. I was just wondering how people got it online. The OP posted a link on the first page that went straight to the promo page...obviously it is dead now, but you were limited in which games were eligible online. The real deal was in (participating?) stores, where this deal applied to ALL games. Wish you luck on your search tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure that this was just a one week thing (that TRU has been running annually around autumn) that ended at COB Saturday.

Thanks OP. I went to local TRU store and got the last Wii remote for $30.00. Nunchuks were gone as were the good games.

local stores still have the sale going but they didn't get any restock last night, so they are totally out. Nunchuks seem to be hard to find. Yesterday afternoon one of the stores sill had remotes plenty in stock - they had them in the back...

They didnt even care about it being Halo 3 they just figured since the sale was off that it couldnt be done. I just said forget and returned all my games.

If anyone else tries to exchange DO NOT BRING ALL YOUR GAMES WITH YOU just take in the one. I asked them, what if i didnt want the game at all then they said well we couldn't give you your money back. I know thats a load of bull but that made me want to leave the store.

And why is this a load of bull? The deal is over. Halo 3 came out after the deal. You tried to take advantage and it didn't work. Get over it.

I would go as far as to suggest that this deal might have to partially do with Halo 3's release. Most people only buy a game once every few months so. Toysrus probably expected extremely slow video game sales surrounding Halo 3's release so they decided to make a preemptive strike and steeply discount their games right before the release. That way Toysrus can clear out its inventory of older games while other retailers are stuck with them sitting on the shelf.

I don't think its unreasonable to exchange for another title of equal or lesser value too be honest; its not like some of the deals that people try to pull here by returning something to keep something for free.

I went on my lunch break on the 25th and exchanged two Halo 3, but kept the other free one with a direct receipt. There wasn't anybody at the return desk, nor at the game section which likely helped. A good chance exchanging games is next week when hype isn't feverish and there will be too many copies for them to count. There is nothing wrong with exchanging for newer games because in a month or so, Halo 3 will be $49.99 in some ads then in 6 months, $39.99. Wait for Black Friday, I'm quite sure that Halo 3 will be discounted. Heard of price drops?!?!?!?
