This has been my bill for 9+ months for less than 50 minutes call a month. Residential Basic 500 Minutes Plan for TEXAS (24/Aug-23/Sep) $14.99 Regulatory Recovery Fee $0.99 Emergency 911 Cost Recovery $0.99 Sales Tax $1.23 Federal Universal Service Fee $1.11 County 911 Fee $0.50 Total Amount $19.81 The different is that New Hamshire doesn't have a sale tax. Us Texan pay 8.25% sale tax, and county fee ect... just like the Bell. So I just count all the fees as tax. rojey said:Well, I transferred my service to SunRocket from Vonage one and a half years ago because I hate those fees. But look at what happened there Now I am back to Vonage and learned not to complain those fees any more.
For question about total cost of the $14.99 plan, it's $18.43 for me (because I made international phone calls):
Residential Basic 500 Minutes Plan for 1-(603)-xxx-xxxx (19/Sep-18/Oct) $14.99 International Calls for 1-(603)-xxx-xxxx (19/Aug-18/Sep) $0.33 Regulatory Recovery Fee $0.99 Emergency 911 Cost Recovery $0.99 Federal Universal Service Fee $1.13 Total Amount $18.43
Honestly, only the Federal Universal Service Fee is a tax, about 6.5%. Without international calls, the final price would be about $18.08 (there's a tax on international calls as well).
tuan2 said:Its just like the Bells now. Expect to pay ~$20 total. Its 33% tax!
jomarrod said:I have been thinking about it for a while - I am not a fan of voip service but I am willing to give it a shot. I pay $31 just for local service with caller ID (including all taxes and surcharges.
On a $14.99 plan, how much should I expect the total (including al fees) will be?...
Thanks OP

I'm on the line with them right now, they're not offering it, I think the CSR needs me to say it a certain way before they can offer it, from the way he keeps phrasing his statements. And I tried just bulling ahead and asking for the lower price, and he keeps reading from his sheet. Update: My cell phone cut out. A fresh start, and hopefully a different CSR. |

Thanks OP. Worked like a charm, a quick 5min phone call and i can see the rate reflected on my plan. So for next 12 months, it saved me $120, thanks OP. I tried for the free 2 months offer, but he wouldnot give it, thats fine. |

Okay, the call back was much better. This CSR didn't keep giggling, and didn't even mention 'canceling my plan' (wink wink) just switched me over to the $14.99 monthly. No free months, but at some point I do have to get back to work. I did ask him if he's got anything else to offer, like a T-shirt, but drew a blank. I thought that sounded a bit too Fatwallet, and left it at that. |

Got $14.99 for the life of my service, but no free months. I didn't bother asking for the months and let him bring up the $14.99 deal. |

I've been on the $14.99 forever... The upgrade to Premium Unlimited for the same price worked for me. Thanks OP. I called -866-243-4357, then waited for the voice prompt to "cancel service." I went straight to the retention guy... no routing thru regular customer service first. He sent the confirmation via email immediately: Item Quantity Unit Subtotal ******************************************************************* New Rate Plan Activation Charge 1 $0.00 $0.00 Unlimited Residential Plan-RT0807 1 $0.00 $0.00 ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ Total: $0.00 |

I also got in on this deal without a problem. I said I wanted to cancel and let them offer the $14.99 plan. After offering it, I asked if they could throw in a couple of free months as well and got them without issues. My account was credited a total of $34.74 based on the new $14.99/month rate. Thanks OP! |

Thanks for the post! Just got it on both my lines! Had to go through a bit of a dog and pony show with the rep though. It's almost like they have to go through a script in order to do this. Funny thing is that I got cut off in the middle of the call but went and checked my account and the rep finished the process. Gotta love saving $120/year (was already on a $20 retention plan) |
