Unlimited How did you get this? Did you have to do a fake "i'm want to disconnect" sort of thing? Or did you directly call/ask for retentions? How long have you been with Vonage and were you on any other promotions just prior? Thanks! |

Had the $17.99/500 minute plan (which was close to $26.00 with all the fees/taxes). Downgraded to the $9.99/100 minute plan with free incoming, free Vonage-vonage, 100 minutes of calling. I hardly use my phone except as a billing number so that works fantastic. I have been with them for 6.5 years so this just made me stay with them. |

If you already have a limited 100 minute service with Vonage, can you do a referral to yourself and get 2 months free on the existing line and the new unlimited line? |

I don't think that would work. I guess what they need is new client so that they get new business and expand if possible. |

Looks like this is new condition related to referring a Friend : † The Referrer will receive a credit for up to 2 FREE months of service based on the plan the New Customer (“Referee”) chooses (up to $49.99). Credit(s) have no cash value, are non-refundable and non-transferable. Certain types of referrals, including but not limited to, referring oneself or someone living in the same residence as Referrer are prohibited. The Referee will not be charged for the basic service fee of the plan they choose in the first two months, but other charges will apply. See plan for details. If either referrer or referee cancels before 90 days from the date the Referee subscribes to Vonage service, this will result in the loss of and/or chargeback of associated credits. Other terms and conditions may apply. Void where prohibited. Vonage purchases made at retail are not eligible for the Refer-A-Friend. Offers cannot be combined and are subject to restrictions and limitations. For details and Terms of Service, see here. |

I am currently a Vonage customer and paying $35/mo with taxes and fees. I have switched to Ooma and in the process of porting the number from Vonage (which was my original home phone number). So far the Ooma is great and I can't wait for the porting to complete so I can be rid of the monthly Vonage bill. With Ooma you never pay again. No taxes, no regulatory fees nor any other stinking fee/tax. My monthly bill for home phone service is $0 from now on. For what I was paying Vonage, my Ooma with porting will be break-even in 6 months. Do yourself a favor and check out Ooma! |

As far as ooma ... how in the world do you expect that business model to survive? Eventually it will have to go down .. hope you get your moneys worth before it goes under ... My buddy called me and let me know that you can now get Vonage talked down to like $12.15 a month unlimited. I had a partial credit for the past months payment and cried just enough to get a free month too. With my five dollar credit and their help i have no Vonage bill till 12-30-09 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saved me 10 a month, plus a little bit more on taxes too. |
