I have a D40 and use it with old (I mean OLD) prime lenses all the time, my fave is a Nikkor 1.4 where I have to do manual exposure in addition to focusing. Manual focusing isn't that hard, there's a little green light in the viewfinder that tells you when it's in focus. I have pics of moving animals, people playing softball, and more using manual focus. It is something that gets easier the more you do it, and kind of makes using autofocus boring. |
