Might want to note in the title that these are cabin filters.

I have an '04 Civic. Whats the cheapest place to get a regular cabin filter? Not trying to get off topic. Just trying to figure out if this deal is worth doing or not.

Also some report that these are stressful for home A/C units because of the air restriction. Think the same could be said for a car?

i got it last time from midas and it was like 28 bucks then this is pretty much half price for me.

If you get a funny smell when you turn on your AC that mostlikely means that you need a new filter (IMO).

Thanks OP, I got 2 of them and coupon applied to each one so making each one $14.95 plus shipping of $4.95 ground. The shipping cost is same $4.95 no matter how many you order.
Also seems coupon of $10 applys to each item, no one coupon per order BS.

Do we know what that "free car care kit" (OP's Title) contains? Could not see it anywhere while ordering?

EDIT: nm.. Its in the Picture on top!!

CSK sells them for $20 or so. I'm going to order a few for my car from 3M. As far as a filter such as this stressing the A/C system - you could always go OEM if you're more comfortable. Toyota charges $40 for a cabin air filter so after my original one needed replacing, I went elsewhere.

SleekWallet said: If you get a funny smell when you turn on your AC that mostlikely means that you need a new filter (IMO).That funny smell comes from mildew that is in the evaporator fin area, and the ducting next to it. The evap core is moist when running A/C. It's too cold immediately after stopping the car, but as it sits and gets warmer, the mildew blooms and puts out the putrid odor. Changing the cabin filter won't help this particular problem too much.

It used to be that only import cars had this issue. I noticed that domestics have also picked up the problem the last few years. (I rent cars a lot).

I wasn't planning to buy from the dealer. I was thinking one of the aftermarket brands were closer to $10. And they wouldn't be restrictive either (not saying the 3M is). But no need for OEM.

excellent, I'm in for 3. Autozone charges like 22 bucks for the Bosch for my Camry. Hopefully these are better than the Bosch, which are cheaper than buying at the Toyota stealership.

I've gotten into the habit of turning my A/C off and leaving the fan on to dry the system out - maybe a minute or two before I reach wherever I'm going. Works great and I don't have that gross smell.

Wish I had a newer car to take advantage of this deal.

Nice find OP! Autozone gets about $25 each for Bosch filters for my Element. Not due for replacement yet but I'll need them sometime.......Thanks!

Yea, I do the same, it solves the problem. It also helps to make sure the car is on "fresh" and not "recirc" at this point. But it is a hassle to do so, if it is 100 degrees outside.

I wish that the car mfgs would do that for me- run the fan for a couple of minutes after the car is turned off. Heck, there are similar systems already in place for the engine itself. VWs do this, you can hear the radiator fan kick on sometimes when the car is off and unattended.

If you order 2 filters, do they give you 2 car care kit? or just 1 car care kit per order?

According to the graphic on the top of the page, you get a free car care kit per filter. Hopefully, that's the case.

In for 1. Thanks OP.

Thanks OP, in for 2. Saves me a few bucks from what I've found recently.

If you turn on the heat & fan on high, it'll dry it out quicker, meaning you won't have to ride as long with the vent fresh air on/AC off. Just roll down the windows and if it's hot outside anyway, you wont tell much difference in the heat being on.
Also, Frigi Fresh cleans it out for awhile.

If your Element is an 03-05, I think it uses the same filter as my Civic. Advance/Parts America online says they're $21.88 for a pair (2 required). Also they have some sort of $5 off online, but I can't get the details to appear.
O'Reilly online says they're $15 each for O'Reilly/Microguard brand, with only 1 required. I guess it's one large one to take the place of two? And $17 for set of two for Wix brand.

Ordered three. Thanks OP!

In for 2.. Thanks OP the Rolla will apreciate it!

Did you ever open your cabin filter? There're two seperated filters to fit in the space, and for that design, you need to slide in one first and plug in the other, you can't even switch them as I know. That's for my 02 civic, don't know if they changed that.

Edit: from the size, I think the 06 civic start to use a double sized one? And that bigger one is at the same price as the smaller one. Made me think why not buy the big one and cut it into two smaller ones? Cos I have to buy two smaller ones for my car which becomes very expensive compare to the Parts america's 19.99 a pair filters.

Good deal, though I get my cabin air filters for my Honda for $15.95 from http://www.handaccessories.com.

While I'm there, I get wiper refills, air filters and oil filters . . . they also have good prices on other things you 'should' have for doing oil changes . . . like spare drain plugs and replacement washers. No more fishing if you drop one in the drain pan . . . put on a new one, and get the other one later when dumping the pan out.

I wish they made filters for slightly older car models!

Is that Handa or Honda accessories?

Wow, they're a division of Carmichael Honda right here in Sacramento. Too bad they don't allow local pick up.

Yep, H and A . . . as in Honda and Acura . . . they are a legit Honda Dealer that sells outside the 'authorized' channels of Honda.com.

If you are on the East coast and don't want to wait a week for your shipment from H and A you can order from www.hondaacuraworld.com they are an internet front for a real dealership in Buffalo (Ray Laks Automotive)

Fleetfilter FTMFW!!!

how often do you need to replace to the cabin filters? I never thought about switching mine. Then again i only have 25k miles

henryrock said: how often do you need to replace to the cabin filters? I never thought about switching mine. Then again i only have 25k miles

Varies by car. I've seen anywhere from 15K to 45K cabin filter changes. The longer intervals usually recommend you clean and inspect the filter every 15K.

Whatever the OWNER's MANUAL tells you. This is why they call it the OWNER's MANUAL, so that OWNERs know what to do and when.

Usually once a year, but depending where you live and how bad your allergies are, you may want to replace more often.

I can get even lower price at this FleetFilter site and I can buy air filter, too. great! Thanks.

I have a 04 Civic that takes 2 cabin air filters. So when placing an order for these 3M filters, can I just specify a quantity of 1 and would that come with a set of 2 filters to replace the ones currently in the car? Or do I really need to specify a quantity of 2 to do a full replacement?

Also are these 3M cabin filters better than other generic filters that can be found on eb@y or elsewhere? It seems I can find the ones for my car on eb@y for cheaper, even after the $10 coupon for the 3M ones. Or are all cabin filters generally the same in quality?

Here's the answer from 3M as I asked the same question. I think they should change their description on their website to clarify this. But, anyways, it's not a bad deal for 14.95 a set before shipping.

To make this deal hotter, if you don't have a Honda, sell your car and buy one.

Skipping 23 Messages...

I just found this deal. I don't see $10 promo.

Any other deal on Air filer & Engine filer? Looking for Toyota Camry and Matrix.
