Marking my calendar for January 5, 2008. I'll be sure to get the Buy.com domain since they won't be around anymore. Maybe I can get some last minute Christmas presents on an extreme clearence since they'll be having their HUGE going out of business sale. Of course I'll have to fight the other 10 million customers to try to get my hands on their reduced line of 2 million products. But I'll be there!

OK STinkle. I propose a deal as follows:
If Buy.com goes out of business by 12/31/2007 I will request that the MODS ban me from this forum. If Buy.com is still in business after 12/31/2007, you agree to be banned (for good this time).

RECORD and PROFITS... back-to-back. Get it. Your pseudo-self-aggrandizing campaign only serves your distorted narcissism. Buy.com isn't going under. Your touch on reality, however, is.
It is so good to see fellow FWers to get agitated over buy.con ... I always give it red/green to help the losing side. Since green is winning today, I gave it red ...

I don't know about you, but the fact that because a Buy.com post receives red all the time, it makes me more likely to look at it at this point. In a sea of green bars, the red bar becomes a lot more visible.

I am surprised that FW has not cracked down on this but they seem uninterested in going after rating violations in general (like when I found one bozo using it as a marker of the posts he had read).

Agreed, but for casual FW users like myself who doesn't filter the messages, a big red bar makes me more likely to view it at this point if it has "Buy.com" in its title.
Personally, I haven't had any problems with Buy.com. Because I live in SoCal, my order is usually received the next day with free budget shipping, so if I need something fast and their price is competitive enough, even with tax, I'll usually buy from them.

I don't see what this has to do with the topic, and I don't know what you mean by "for good this time". I don't think this is a fair challenge to say the least since you're likely to rig the result in your favor.
