OK, for those of you who want to watch the South American FIFA World Cup qualifiers, here's a little guide on the available options:
1. PPV regular TV
This option is through Dish Network Price per game: $29,99 Discounts (see site for details): 4-game package: $59,99 16-game package: $159,99
2. PPV online
This option is through an Internet TV website called JumpTV.com Price per game: $13,95 (in Spanish, English or Portuguese) Discounts (see site for details): if you purchase a 4-game package, there's a 25% discount (through Oct. 12) if you purchase a single game, there's a 10% discount with the code ELIMINATORIAS07
3. Closed circuit:
Available at selected bars. Here in SoCal they normally charge around $20. For a complete list of participating establishments see here: List of participating bars
4. Regular TV:
Some games will be available for FREE on GolTV (a soccer channel). Check here for a list of those games: Games on GolTV Keep in mind that if a game is available on GolTV, it won't be available through Dish Network or in closed circuit
5. Through Orb (Streaming TV from home):
I actually haven't tested this alternative yet, but I don't see why it would not work. Here's the deal: As you may know, you can stream TV through Orb: TV streaming through Orb; so the idea would be to have someone in South America, do the whole TV tuner setup and sign up for an account with orb. Then you sign in to that account here in the US, and start your MyCasting. Since these games are available in public TV in South America, all you have to do is switch to a channel that broadcasts the games. Thats's it. Now, what do you need? well, basically a TV tuner card is all you need. Oh! and obviously someone in South America that can do the setup for you.
6. P2P:
Thanks Izpoof for the heads up. There are P2P services that offer LIVE sports channels online. This is not Internet TV, this is regular TV streamed LIVE through the Internet. There's a website (www.myp2p.us) specialized in all kinds of sports. It lists all the P2P sports channels where you'll be able to watch a specific game.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. If you have any other alternatives, please PM me and I'll list them here. Good luck people, and enjoy the games!
UGHH. ALL GAMES ARE FREE TO WATCH IF U HAVE AN INTERNET CONNECTION. JUST GOOGLE P2P TV. NUF SAID AND NO MORE JUNK ABOUT CRIQUET MATCHES OR SOCCER/FUTBOL OR MARBLES OR QUIDITCH!!!!!

All gave me red because I shared information to help people save money. So either these folks have a vested interest in seeing the rest of you pay money, or they are just ignorant to the facts. And yes my post was on purpose and I woulda said the same thing about baseball, hockey or boxing. Its all free if you have the knowledge and i just gave you the knowledge.
You're welcome.
PS, Sopcast is the best with ants just behind it. I like to go HERE and then navagate along the SIDES to whatever particular sport im wanting to watch. That way you can pick from sopcast or ants or whatever.
Could you recommend any P2p tv service?... I have never used any and I am clueless....

tvant is good, so is ppstream, pplive, sopcast.
sometimes its just a matter of finding the right game with the right program
QAny reviews on jumptv?.. It is cheaper than PPV but I wonder if the quiality would be as good as the TV.
The price for 4 games on jumptv is half the price of 4 games on ppv

OK guys, to tell you the truth, I wasn't very familiar with all this P2P stuff, but there's a ton of options out there. I came across a website that lists schedules for all P2P sports channels and also tells you were to find those P2P channels. www.myp2p.us
f*ing jumptv - I paid for a pkg and their stupid site is down
I can't watch anything.
Does anybody have a phone number for junktv (I mean jumptv)?

Apparently their site is up again. Following the advice from some FWers, I downloaded Sopcast and it's working like a charm! I watched Uruguay's and Argentina's games already. Right now they're broadcasting Venezuela's game but I'm not interested at all that one.

Does anyone know how to get a stream from, say Sopcast, onto the Xbox 360, i.e. decode on the fly to wmv?
murpheeee said: http://www.livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ If you guys are gonna use this one, make sure to use Internet Explorer. It does not work with Firefox. If you just hate the idea of using IE, Firefox has an add-on that lets you display websites in IE format inside Firefox. It's called IE Tab
