Thanks a lot Econometrician. That was an useful info since I was looking to get it for India.

Do you mean problems with 2.4ghz sets in general or this model in specific? Will the phone interfere with the network or vice versa? If the problem is with the phone not the network, what kind of problems will it have (static or what)?

I have a similar Uniden set (older model) at home - also 2.4 GHz and it doesn't cause any problems at all with my Linksys WRT54G v4.0 router.
Just in general. Two or three years ago, I used to have huge problems when I had wireless and 2.4 cordless phones. Switching channels didn't help. I don't remember which brand the phone was. After I got a 5.8GHz phone the problem disappeared. It could be just my phone, since d1sturbdapeace above does not have any problem running both.

Great deal on these, I have had a set identical to these for around 4 years and they are very good. I haven't had any problems with wifi interference. I have had my microwave interfere with them a few times.

802.11g WIFI is on the 2.4ghz band. So, if you have a wireless network in your home, and add 2.4ghz cordless phones, they will interfere with each other, causing diminished signal strength, shorter range, quirky performance.
For $20 for 3 phones (that 2 way radio features is going to be handy) I'll roll the dice with the interference issue. Thanks OP

I have a set of similar Unidens that I bought a few years back that are still working well. This is probably not much more expensive than replacing the batteries on that set (1 base unit, 1 "remote" unit)! Plus, this one has shared memory. On the older set, I have to program numbers into each handset individually.
Thanks OP!
Oh... I also saw this in todays Fry's B&M ad (So. Cal.), so it's available there too.

The 5.8Ghz phones suck. I would go with the new DECT 6.0 phones which operate in the 1.8Ghz band. These will have a longer range than the 2.4Ghz phones.

Here's another phone from Fry's that's a really good deal. They're refurbished but for $30 for 4 phones, I'll take my chances. Plus no rebate to mess with. Shipping was $7 for me and no tax

The reviews are terrible for the two handset similar model.

I have a similar uniden multi-handset/answer machine model. I like it but one complaint I have FYI is you can't have more than two handsets on at once, if you try to turn third one on it won't. Not sure if that's true with this model, but FYI.
This is a great deal… if it ships. I was able to order, but stock was already at “call for availability.” My experience with Fry’s in the past suggests it is iffy actually getting an item at that status. Haven’t received the email confirmation yet either (a half hour after ordering).

The higher frequencies carry shorter distances than lower frequencies for a given amount of transmission power. So by going from 5.8Ghz from 2.4Ghz, you're approximately halving your range for equal amounts of power at the transmitter.
You'll probably be seeing the 5.8Ghz gear dying out pretty quickly as we see more manufacturers putting out DECT 6.0 stuff.
They ran this same deal in early September. Strange that this time it's listed as a "pre-order" price. Different rebate this time around, so it is possible to get in on the deal again. However, with the product in "call for availability" status and the rebate postmark deadline set at October 31st, it's become a crapshoot.
Still haven't opened mine.
