If you want a SXRD TV, get it soon. Sony has stopped producing RPTV's. They will no longer make SXRD or LCD rear projection units and will not be filling back orders once curent inventory is gone. Also the KDSZ-60/70XBR5 SXRD models will not be produced Sony Press release AVSForum thread |

Fry's has the special pricing again this weekend, but no longer includes the 60-inch model in their ad. Wonder if that means, Fry's will no be getting any new stock? 50-inch is $1299 55-inch is $1499 SanJose Mercury Frys Ad Crutchfield has the 60-inch model for $1699.99 with free shipping. Even though Sony has announced their exit of the RPTV market, I am probably going to purchase the 60 from Crutchfield this week. I would have bought it at Fry's B&M, but I would have had to pay sales tax and delivery charges. The box wouldn't fit in my van and I didn't want to go through the hassle of renting a van. If money was not an issue, I would purchase one of the new Pioneer Kuro plasma sets. These Sony's are great bang for your buck sets. I figure if it lasts me several years with one bulb change, I'll be happy. |

I'm not positive if this model is affected, but I heard there was a defect with SXRDs that made the screen go yellow and sony had to extend the warranty. |

Well I had to pull the trigger on the OneCall.com price. $1699 with free shipping couldn't pass it up. |

I ordered a TV once from OneCall with no problems. Shipped fast and arrived by a trucking company. They wouldn't bring it in the house though, just up to the front door. Don't know if this policy has changed or if it depends on the trucking company. Just wanted to ad it was strapped on a pallet. |

Do the bulbs on these burn out? Will the bulbs be replaceable when they stop making these sets, if they do burn out? Lifespan of a bulb? Is there a warranty that covers 1st bulb replacement or anything? Sorry for so many questions, but the better half is gonna kill me for pulling this trigger, so I want to make sure it is going to last. |

The bulb is good for 3000 to 5000 hr, they are $250 from sony and about $150 for aftremarket. You can get extended warranties that cover the bulb, see posts near the beginning of the thread. |

Just wanted to ad it was strapped on a pallet. Was the tracking info way off? I got the email saying mine shipped today but scheduled delivery wasn't until the 24th. Seemed kind of long to me. |

I got my TV last week. The picture is incredible right out of the box. It is even better once I tweaked the settings a bit. I am glad I didn't go with a 50 or 55. |
