How likely is it that BB or Sears will PM if I'm on the East Coast? There aren't any local fry's stores around here.

This is a great TV. Hope you can do PM with BB/Sears.
Here is the Frys Ad
Here is the BB Receipt for PM opportunity.

Good luck to you all.

My local Fry's always says "NO" to "printing error".

That's not true. It's not a price mistake.
I called 2 Frys stores before I did the PM with BB and they both said the price was $1599.
I asked them if they did have stocks. They did so I PMed with BB and got the TV.

Is everyone buying the service plan with this set? Is this a dlp that will cost me in the long run with replacing parts?

Can you email me a copy of both: twinsdad23@aol.com

I'd look here before buying an extended warranty, though I definitely would get one. It's not a DLP, it's an LCoS (Sony calls it SXRD), but it also involves replacing the bulb. Many extended warranty plans include free bulb replacements, making the extended warranty pay for itself.

Although you have to replace the bulb, this TV doesn't draw as much power as similarly sized plasmas and most LCD's (plasmas moreso than LCD's of course). So the price is at least partially offset.

Sears price 2200 - frys 1600 = 600 X 10%=60

1600-60=1540

1540-250 for using Sears card = $1290

Sweet. Thanks!

interesting.

so will a BB on the east coast PM because a BB in CA did the PM?

or will Sears on the east coast PM because of the receipt?

just trying to get this straight.

Again, it depends on the manager of that store you're trying to do a PM.
But I've never had any problem with a PM within BB stores.

Sears PM might work if there's local Frys/BB stores in your area.
If you don't have Frys store in east coast, then do PM to BB at Sears.

Anyone else have any luck using a recipt from BB to another BB. Im on the east coast and an hour drive to BB for me so I dont want to try to PM with a BB in California if there is no way it would work. But would be a great deal if I could get it to work. Wonder if they would let me jump on the $300 DTV deal on this to sweaten the pot.

Thanks
Dawg

Update (10/23/07 9:30pm)
Went to Sears B&M to PM with Frys for KDS-60A3000. The Sears saleswoman called Frys store to check for the price and received the confirmation about the price ($1599). She then typed the $600 discount into the cash register and asked me if I would like to open Sears CC today and received $250 instantly. I said hell "YES". She had to overwrite the $250 discount because when she entered it into the cash register, it showed an error saying that the item is not qualitied for discount. Finally, she waited for the manager approval to swipe the card. Manager came 10 minutes later, the saleswoman explained about the discounts and got a green light from the Manager.

Final price: $2199 - $600 (Frys discount) - $60 (110% PM) - $250 (paid w/Sears CC) - $15 (auto 1st discount when open a new Sears CC) + $8 (environment tax)= $1282 + tax

Now, I will need to pack the one I bought from BB and return it.

Yeah!!! This is an early Christmas present for my family

I knew I wasn't the only one who could do this. Now we need a good deal on a stand. By the way, I got mine from the owner of the local Sears store. He hates it when I walk in because he knows I am going over to the instore computer for a price match.

Same here. I am looking to get a better table/stand for this TV. I bought this one from Bestbuy already but I didn't like it.

The saleswoman was very surprised after she punched in all the discounts
One of the salesman told her that Sears does not PM to Frys and I told her check the system.
She did check it and found Frys as the competitive store.
