Anyone know if you can get get rid of the HD Box, get an HD Tuner card for my Media PC and it will show HD? I know with comcast HD is an option you have to pay (I have basic servie, no digital) so throwing in an HD card would do nothing. Is fios always sending an HD signal and the 9.99 box does the converting to the tv? You need verizon HD receiver to get the HD channels including the local HD. The part that sucks is that Comcast at least used to provide unencrypted Local HD channels that you can use either TV-inbuilt or a PC HD tunner to receive or record the channel but FIOS does not provide free Local HD channels you need to have their HD receiver even for the local channels. But my friends who have comcast say that HD channels on FIOS are good compared to comcast, Though i never could determine it myself. |

Rate increases after term plans expire. ... What do you mean "when the copper is gone"? I tried FIOS for a while, decided to stay with cable for Internet, now I have voice only over FIOS. Same price. |

do you have to get the triple play to qualify for this offer? The reason why i am asking is because I just got the Double play (internet + phone for $65) and wanted to know if i can get a gift card. |

unless you watch online tv, download massive videos or do vidoe conference, is 20MB Down really necessary? I get Comcast 6MB down and it has been well sufficient for me. For 99 a month or 1200 a year?!??!?!?! is this cost justifiable? |

Is FIOS available for apartment complexes now, or am I stuck with cable? My apartment's cable line sucks. I pay for the Extreme (10m down) with Time Warner, but I usually get only about 5k with spikes up to 10m. |

IMHO, the 20mb download isnt the clincher, its the 5mb upload. For people who upload alot, 5mg upload is HUGE. I currently have the 5/2 plan, and slingbox works really well on it. If I had a 20/5 plan, I would upgrade to a HD slingbox! =) kaiotes said:unless you watch online tv, download massive videos or do vidoe conference, is 20MB Down really necessary? Oh, I just got off the phone with FIOS, the 20/5 plan is $49.99 a month.

(10/20 in some areas) The $99 per month is for the triple-play package (internet / tv / digital phone). You don't have to have all three if you just want a fast internet connection. |

You think the Triple Play package offered by Cable co. is standard everyday pricing, it's also a promo after the rate was up my bill went up 33% At least you can get locked in the rate for 2 years and worse comes to worse switch back and forth when the promos are about to end. |

I watch tv from work, using SageTV so i'm sure to see an improvement with this from comcasts crappy 768 upload rate that i'm currently getting. As for dude asking how many HD channels, in my area, counted 23 (local and cable) |

I have, and have yet to see any complaints on picture quality this is the types of reviews I have been coming up with over and over. "Quality: Standard definition channels are as good as it gets as far as I’ve seen. High definition channels are also as good as I’ve seen. Verizon will have a real competitive advantage over cable and satellite providers when it comes to picture quality thanks to the ample bandwidth that FiOS can provide" at http://www.defefx.com/verizon-fios-tv/. Pretty much the same on any sites I checked. Do a google search on "fios tv"+review, and you can confirm this. Can you provide any links? Thanks |

Partially successful. I was only able to get the $200 GC. The CS rep wouldn't upgrade to the 20/5. The CS rep asked for the specifics of the mailer, but I just said I misplaced it (I really didn't even have it). I mentioned I could recall something about a $200 GC & speed upgrade. Initally she said this was a summer promotion and had to speak with another rep to confirm that it is an ongoing promotion. I really couldn't argue since I don't have the mailer. If anyone could post the real mailer, I think that would help. When asked why I wasn't informed of this promotion at sign-up last week, I was told that the customer has to ask for it. Thanks OP. Comcast has the worst DVR ever made hands down. It is such a huge POS! And their prices are a ripoff. I would love to ditch them for FiOS TV. |

I just had to call them today, they dont have any decent plan in VA and not only do they not showed up two week ago to setup up my phone service. It has been a pain to get a hold of a real person once you have the service or even get someone out to your place to fix anything. I currently have to power off my hdtv box everyday cause there is a known sync issue with the box thru hdmi. |
