Yeah, you switch the mode to 'Input' and start typing your message.

OK...Demo with LEDs

Buy some superglue and rare earth magnets. Program messages into the cards and toss them onto any magnetic surface. Street signs, undersides of awnings, etc. Get creative.

Wow are you giving these away as gifts too? I want to come to your house for Christmas. Are you cookies frozen from Y2K too? The fun never ends.

I bet you're proud to vote Republican.

Anybody a fan of Robert Heinlein's novel "Starship Troopers"?
(Not the abortion of a movie... the actual written word <g>

They had a neat psychological weapon they used.

Program in:
I am a 60 second bomb... I am a 59 second bomb... etc; <g>

(For humor purposes only of course <g>

got 15 for a penny each...nail polish remover worked great with a rough sponge type thing to get all the writing on the front and back off no problem

. got 5 for 5 cents yesterday. clerks still were a bit confused but shrugged it off with no reason to deny us. Kids played with them in the car on the way home and thought 1 cent was a great "price"

It took me a while to program the red LED banner to display green.

Kudos for making a video of it. Totally pointless, but Kudos to you.

Good GREEN idea.... just remove and replace the red lens with a GREEN plastic or mylar, and you'll have A GREEN LED gift card.

Too bad the actual LEDs emit red light, not white and changing the lens will not work.

Remember to add, "Not a bomb" on the message. Remember the Mooninites?

Sadly, my BestBuy doesn't carry these.

I had a project in mind for them after reading this thread. If anyone with access to these would be interested in making a quick buck, send me a PM with an offer. I'd be interested in 15-20 of them.

After trying almost all the chemicals/cleaners in the house, I found out that the bug/tar remover for my car works well. It requires a lil scrubbing to take all the print off, but it did not scratch the card or melt it like nail polish remover does.

Bought 36 for a penny each...

and a lecture from the store manager about the fact that they were not meant to be sold for a penny...

Check again soon. I've been doing some traveling and have seen these in every BB I've been to. They may be waiting to put these out at certain locations - but you'll see them soon.

I just got the horrid paint off the front.

I just rubbed the front with the abrasive side of a Scotch-Brite pad. It took 5 minutes TOPS. No need for any solvents except water; although there was leftover soap from the spongy side.
