[1.5 Mbps] for $37.95 and that the person I was talking to could not give me the price with taxes.

Great info for ATL. Thanks!

Hey all, I just updated the Quick Summary. Please keep that updated with the results for your area!

Thanks!

Called the number in the OP...the CS said they only handle the midwest, and couldn't locate a number for the department that handles the southeast. Time to hit google!

Can you please post the number if you locate it, I did some searching and could not find one.

Thanks.

Current Charges
SERVICE DISCOUNT 10/19/07 11/18/07 $-26.0
ATT Yahoo! HSI PRO N 10/19/07 11/18/07 $54.99

TOTAL $28.99

So I wonder how long the $26 "discount" will last.

interesting - i called in a few months ago to switch up my service and they told me that the "pro" wasnt available in my area - im in chicago - in the jefferson park neighborhood - mind if i ask what neighborhood youre in? im wondering if this is only good in "certain parts" of chicago...

i guess once i get home tonite, ill be able to check for sure...

954-626-1263 is for level two retentions @ AT&T. Try that.

AT&T Chicago is formerly SBC, not formerly BellSouth.

Has anyone confirmed the actual area where this offer is valid?

But of course...

Florida (and I assume the rest of the former Bellsouth areas) can call 1-877-737-2478.

Navigate through the menus by selecting that you're calling to cancel your phone service with AT&T. When the customer service rep answers, tell them that you saw an article about the $24/$29 plan (whichever you're trying for). After a minute or two of searching, the CS rep I spoke to found it. As of tomorrow, I'm paying $24/month for DSL only. Thanks OP!

alert mods

Are any of you planning to keep your phone number (assuming you currently have phone+DSL from AT&T)? I assume you have to port the number before you cancel, is that correct?

Did anyone try in CA. Please let me know

Mine ATT DSL (1.5Mb) is 14.95 but require a phone line. However, the unlimited phone line just for dsl is about $7(have to pay other than dsl) so total about 21.95 + tax. This is for Dallas Texas

GA...30152
Naked DSL prices:
47.95 6.0
42.95 3.0
37.95 1.5
Would love to get the better deals, but this $5 HIGHER than the normal rates...

In houston Tx even when there is a basic subcriber line for DSL which is only around 6 bucks, after taxs it went up to 16 dollar! So that plus 24.99 for the 3mb dsl will come to 40 dollars. I wish my area has cox cable internet.

I hope you aren't just asking them what the price is. They don't willingly offer up the lower rates. I had to insist that I'd seen it in an article about the Bellsouth-AT&T deal with the FCC. They put me on hold and suddenly the CS rep could find the deal...even though she'd quoted me different prices when I first mentioned dropping the phone line.

I live in East Lakeview (60657).

People should know, this is not available online. When I tried signing up online, naked DSL was available...for $55. You must call to get this offer. I found out about it because I got a postcard from AT&T about it.

AkronTim said:Appears to be a soft pull - took my credit app info again...

They didn't take my credit info or mention anything about running a credit check. They specifically told me that there was no contract, no obligation, etc.

alert mods

1- they definitely did a credit check. even though i've been a customer with them for 2 years.
2- service and price was exactly as quoted on here. didnt have to fight for anything. lady was super friendly.
3- no contract, no additional fees. they verbally said i'll be paying 28.99 until i cancel or move.
4- i'm in chicago - west loop.
5- having it switched when i go on thanksgiving vacation for a week. the down time between switching from land line to naked line is 4 business days, but given the holidays, i'll be out from 19th-26th. no biggie.
