In theory you should be able to get it but just have to buy your own DSL Modem. I'm not 100% sure if you have to go thru them or if you can go get your own online or at Fry's or wherever, BUT I know somebody who has normal DSL thru them and went and got his own "Zoom" modem instead of using the one they gave him. I wouldn't exactly recommend his modem because it keeps crapping out on him, but that sounds like you can go get your own and not have to pay AT&T their overpriced rate for theirs. I think you can find your own DSL Modem for pretty cheap (maybe $30 or so - AT&T charges $100 for thiers last I remember). Good Luck! |

Residential AT&T Yahoo! High-Speed Internet customers only. Offer available in parts of AR, CA, CT, IL, IN, KS, MI, MO, NV, OH, OK, TX, WI. Available for new customers only. *NEW CUSTOMER IS DEFINED AS NOT HAVING AT&T YAHOO! HIGH SPEED INTERNET OR BELLSOUTH HIGH SPEED INTERNET IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS. One-year term required NEW CUSTOMER ONLY In Texas ======== Basic Measured Rate Service = $5 (NO Touch Tone, NO Call ID etc). Tax = $8 Basic DSL $10 New Customer Only or $10 Total = $5+$8+$10 = $23 with Basic Measured Phone Line (free 25 call out + 8 cent per call) Touch Tone will cost = 50 cent + 20 cent (TAX) per month
Measured Rate Service (monthly range $4.10 - $9.50) Calls over allowance of 25 per use $0.08 Installation one-time fee $38.35 ( Free if order online or internet) The reason that the offer is so difficult to find is that their system checks whether you are a current (or past) ATT High Speed Internet customer. If you are NOT, then the offer will be presented. Here is the window that pops up when you finally get there: Basic DSL $10 New Customer Only or $10 DO NOT sign up for the $19.95 expecting a reduction later $200 installation fee if you don't do it yourself? |

jatan1986 said:Hmmm now I need to find a way to keep my phone number Don't a lot of VoIP providers allow you to xfer ph#'s to them and away from them? If so, try finding somebody like that to use for a month and then switch away from them to whatever your long-term plans are. Just a thought though I'm very ignorant on the subject as I've never really had my own commercial VoIP service (thought I have written a lot of software implementing them). -Jax |

Did anyone get sent a confirmation email from AT&T about this? I got an email that said my new plan was DSL (1.5 Mbps) for $13.22/month! Is this just some bizarre glitch, or are other people getting this email too? |

Thanks OP. I am a new customer and just got this deal at Chicago (60656). I declined the modem that was sold by AT&T ($49.99 + $12.50 shipping). Any good deals on a compatible DSL modem? |

I live in LA and was with BellSouth before they merged. I live in an area that does not have DSL yet. I wish that I could get this promotion as I am using satellite internet....$70/mo. and not so fast. |

I had this since august 2007 in Duncan, SC. Its 37.95 for a dry loop (a.k.a. NAKED DSL) 3.0MB/384K service. I need at least 300K upload for my video phone, but they do offer the 1.5MB /256K for 32.95 though. Its simple, just call and ask for NAKED DSL. They dont mass advertize this so as not to negatively affect their voice services, but would readily give you if you ask. I guess I need to call them to price adjust. |

I did online chat yesterday with AT&T customer service person. She said they don't sell "naked DSL" to my area (Lawrenceville..north of Atlanta). Probably worth another try although Charter has $15 a month for 6 months without requiring cable TV service so I'm doing that. |

I believe by some time in December they're obligated to start selling the $20 naked DSL. I would get Charter but I'm in Dunwoody where they're not available. And Comcast is too expensive.. |
