marmo said:Hi just found out about dryloop in CA.
I called ATT disconnect service and they want to charge me $200 to setup new dryloop service.
I am an existing customer of ATT with Phone and DSL and I think this is absurd.
Has anyone else had this issue or were they able to setup dryloop at no cost or minimal cost?
Thanks all never heard of that why don't you try to call ATT dryloop department? |

The deal should either be marked dead, or be updated with the new pricing. The original offer page (http://www.att.com/gen/general?pid=10850) is being automatically redirected to a new offer page (http://www.att.com/gen/general?pid=11523) now, which shows the following pricing: AT&T High Speed Internet Direct Elite: $45.00 per month AT&T High Speed Internet Direct Pro: $40.00 per month AT&T High Speed Internet Direct Express: $35.00 per month And these aren't good deals anymore. |

There's a price change notice on your statement in the last couple of months. You can read the full context at http://helpme.att.net/dslupdate . |

I live in Northern California, about 50 miles North of SF. I called 800-288-2020 and asked for DSL without a Phone Line. They didn't argue with me at all! In fact, the operation was painless. I asked for the cheapest plans and the CSR offered: 1.5MBPS download speed for $25.00/mo with no contract. The CSR called this "Express". 768Kbps download speed for $20.00/mo with a 12 mo contract. The CSR called this "Basic". There were 3 and 6Mbps plans as well. On-line I found these same plans for $35 and $19.95, but they were referred to as "Direct Express" and "Direct Basic". With a phone line, these plans are on-line for $25 and $19.95, being referred to as "Internet Express" and "Internet Basic". Not sure why I got a better deal when I phoned them. I had to get a DSL modem/wireless router and self-install CD for $79.99 and $12.95, respectively. I will receive a $50 cash-back (actually Visa gift-card) to offset the modem price. Although according to CSR its supposed to be only $25 if you order on the phone and $50 if its on-line. However, I could only find a $50 Cash Back for plans at 3 and 6Mbps, and no rebate for lower speeds. Again not sure why I got a better deal. But I'm super happy with the deal! Of course, your mileage may vary. |

Just noticed that my price for Dry Loop Pro finally went up to $34 per month, from $28.99. Looks like this is still cheaper than the $40 for new service. I'm in the market for a new laptop for my daughter, and considered taking advantage of the $100 credit for new cable internet service from TWC, which offers a 6 month teaser rate of $28.99, with free install and modem. We have had nothing but bad experiences with TWC, are quite happy with DirecTV, and ATT does not yet offer Uverse in our area. My concern is that if I take the teaser from TWC, with the intent of going back to Dry Loop in 6 months, there will be little reason to do so if I end up paying $40 per month for new Pro service. Comments? |

That is, tell AT&T to terminate after current yearly/monthly contract expires, wait 3 - 5 days until AT&T clears the account status, then check on these new offer sites and suddenly, find yourself a qualified new customer again.. |

Hi I am planning to move in several weeks to an apartment in the same complex. Do they match account addresses when it comes to the $125 Cash Rebate for switching from Cable service. I currently have Comcast but want to get DSL when I move to the new unit. Is this possible to get the rebate or is the same service address necessary? Thanks in advance. |

If we do one of the current ATT DSL promos to get the free modem, and then cancel service after the first month, we could call back in and sign up for the dry-loop then, right? |

Look slike Dry Loop is no longer an issue... just got this in an email from AT&T: * Termination of Voice Service. With AT&T High Speed Internet Direct service, we can deliver the benefits of broadband without a home phone connection. For customers who terminate their home phone service with AT&T — but not their high speed Internet service — we have added new language that will ultimately enable us to maintain a customer's broadband connection at the then current rates, terms, and conditions for AT&T High Speed Internet Direct service. Rates should change shortly I'd think across the board. |

Although our service (1.5) increased from $22 to $37 I called to cancel and was offered DSL Lite (256) for $15 and accepted (it's still offered just isnt listed on their page). Still good enough and downloads are ~500-700 serves my needs. |
