<I just got the AAA one off eBay for $.99, there is a ton more...saved me $47.59 but I could not get it to work with fat cash>

Can you let me in on your secret....I tried the AAA coupon and got the message that there were no valid items in my cart - tried clearing cookies and everything else I could think of.....and still no go. Called CC and was told that the AAA coupon does not apply to Olevias - even though it doesn't exclude them - so I couldn't even get the discount by phone.

My dad really wants that TV and I want to get it for him - so I'm hoping there's a workaround.

It worked perfectly for me using some I bought on eBay... or at least the order went through okay.

If you haven't got it resolved yet, let me know and I'll PM you one of them. Can't guarantee it'll work, of course.

Same here, I tried it w/ the AAA coupon and did not go through, is there something we are doing differently?

AAA code worked like a charm for me. I don't know why these AAA cooupn codes are so hit or miss. One day it will give an error message, next morning it will work just fine.

CSJeff thanks for offering to help - I have sent you a messsge. Perhaps it is just a matter of waiting a day and seeing if the code behaves better.

Em

*Update - CSjeff found me a code that would work for the set.....I imagine it's the problem with the new AAA codes detailed in the next post.

Not sure if this is regional or national but AAA recently changed the way they issue 10% coupons, at least in my area. They used to email an actual code which could be entered like a normal coupon when you check out and was valid in-store, on phone, or online. The new emails contain codes for in-store and phone, but you have to click a link to do an online order, which will automatically apply the discount when checking out. This effectively eliminates referral cash-back such as FW since you cannot refer through 2 different links in the same order, which I'm sure was the whole point of making the change.

I successfully ordered one using an old code from a few months ago, before the changes went into affect. I just tried to order an Olevia using the link method and got same error as you. Clicking on the Terms reveals the following info:

This offer is good for a 10% discount on a purchase of $199 or more. AAA Members Only. This offer is good for one use only. Not valid on previous purchases. Offer excludes Advertised specials, Sharper Image, Infinity, Velodyne, Bose, Polk, HP MP3 Players, Apple, Verizon, Kicker, Panasonic Plasma TV's, Verizon, CAN SD1000, KEF, Xbox 360, gaming consoles,MTX Thunder, Sony XBR TVs, Software, Oakley, LG, Akai, ESA, Olivea OLV 232V, outlet, desktop and laptop computers and Circuit City Gift Card purchases. Delivery fees, shipping charges and sales tax not included in total purchase calculation. Coupon code valid online. Not combinable with select Circuit City offers. Not redeemable for cash. Void where prohibited or restricted. Circuit City reserves the right to terminate this offer at any time without prior notice. This offer expires 12/31/07.

Funny that they would specifically highlight the 232V (bold added by me) so not sure if this applies to all Olevia or not. Technically, the 232T is not the same model, even though they are similar, so I would think that 10% should work for it. Worst case, I would just buy one of those old codes from eBay for a couple bucks which seem to have no restrictions.

UPDATE: Just tried checking out with an Olevia 537H and 10% applied with no problem. Then tried a Vizio 37" LCD and got error. So there do appear to be restrictions in addition to what is listed in the terms but good luck guessing what they might be - almost have to go through a trial and error process to figure it out. I see you already tried the phone route; you could try it again and hope for a dumb CS rep; they can probably do a price override if they want. Or instore would probably work too; but no way to get this TV in-store since it's out of stock everywhere right now. I still say an eBay code is probably your best bet.

Can a AAA coupon be use multiple times? I have a coupon, and I already used it once two months ago

I used a 10% off from eBay and was able to get this to work. It didn't mention AAA on it, so I'm not sure if it's the same one... It has an online code and an in-store code on it. Mine also mentioned that the 232V was restricted and I had no problem applying it and checking out.

Got it purchased and shipped 3 days for $468. AAA worked like a charm, but it was from a Sept. request because I am a member. Had to get a CS to place the order because of the CC rewards card. No financing for 18 months too! Great deal. Thanks OP!

18 months??? The link says 3 months no interest.

TinCanFury said:do either the T or V model have a 1:1 mode for using it as a monitor? I plan on connecting it to a MythTV system.

thanks!

I can't say for sure about the 232T since I have a 532H. However, discussions at avsforum show that at least 232V and 532H have the same firmware.
There is a 1:1 mode that at least works on the VGA, HDMI, and tuner inputs. As I mentioned earlier though, the HDMI input has issues with 1 pixel wide vertical lines.

all i wanna know is HOW did you get it for $370?, did you have a coupon code? I really dont wanna wait in line on BF........please let me know ASAP....cuz that is a STEAL

Circuit City's specs says this has PiP, 3 component inputs and 2 s-video/composite inputs. I don't really trust CC specs. Can anyone who owns this this TV confirm or refute that? That's a lot different from the 232V.

Just hooked mine up last night and didn't pay attention to all the hookups, but I noticed only one HDMI and two component. I think there's only S-Vid, but I wasn't looking so I can't say for sure.

I didn't see any mention of PiP on it, but if it does that would be awesome. Just looked at Newegg and they claim it has PIP/Split Screen. If nobody else chimes in for sure before I get home, I'll look and let you know what I found. As far as I know, this is exactly the same set as the 232V, but with different speaker location.

I also bought the CC AAA coupons from eBay, but neither attempt worked

Now I'm currently out 4 dollars...

Appears to be dead, the tv is no longer listed in the search.

I just checked a local store in the MA area and they had it in stock. Most of the stores in MA either have a few in stock or expecting them soon. I would check the B&M stores and have them check stock for you, but as always, YMMV. I also had no problem using the 10% coupon in the store.

Assuming this is like the 537h it has 2 component inputs and the VGA can be used as a third with vga to component cable that can be ordered at monoprice and other typical cable places.

For any of the x32 models they other than the 332 they should all be pretty similar as far as the electronics and functioning of the TVs. The 332 is a monitor only with no built in tuner and very different tv. The rest of the 32 inch models all use the same ATI chipset. I think the 232 will do PIP but it only has a single tuner so it has some limitations. I believe it has to be HDMI and one other input to do PIP but I might be off on that.

The remote that comes with these units is horrible and almost all universal remotes do not yet include a code for the tv. Getting this tv to work with a universal remote is going to take one that is upgradeable like a harmony. One 4 all makes some relatively inexpensive remotes like the 8910 that can download an upgrade over the phone from the MFG that can be used to control a TV like this. Personally I ended up getting into JP1 like one of the previous posters mention to control my 537h.

The menu's on the tv's are a little odd but doesn't really bother me much since I'm not in there adjusting things very often.

I was thinking about pulling the trigger on this by the end of the week. I suck
