Okay guys finally I gt the Sears Deal Price matched at Best Buy....If i have posted this in the wrong section....Please move it.

Here are the details

Ordered 42inch Panasonic Plasma HDTV(1080p) @ Sears (TH-42PZ77U) with in store pick option for 1139$ (1199 - 5%(60$) Friends and Family event)
Added Sears Maintenance plan for 3 years = 299.99
Total = 1139.99 + 299.99 + Tax (86.40) = 1526 $
There is a 150$ Mail in rebate on this if i use my Sears Card
Took the Sears order confirmation along with the print out of Sears website which said 150$ off to BEST BUY

Told them if they offer me the same price I am ready to buy from BB

BB price is $1299
- 160$ Match Competitor Price
- 150$ Sears mail rebate off
- 110$ off on Maintenance plan agreement for 4 years (Since the price of the TV game down to less than 1000$...they gave me 110$ discount on Maintenance plan....Since they cannot deduct it from the service plan they deducted it from the TV)

= 1299.99

I am not sure whether i made a good deal...but for those who were feeling bad for not having Sears Credit Card and missing out the Sears deal can follow the above process and get the same discount which I got at BB.

Can you guys please advise whether to buy the 4 years Service plan or not????
I was thinking of going back to the store and cancel the Service plan. What do you guys say???

Yes, return the service plan.

FYI, PM and then do the current DirecTV deal and you'll get it for way cheaper. YMMV on that, but a LOT of us got DTV and a Panasonic PM last year the week before BF.

alert mods

I wouldn't buy the warranty...
If it's fine the first year, the chances are very very slim that it will need service in the next three. Take that money to Vegas and if you lose it, at least you'll have gotten some free drinks out of it. LOL.

they PMed the MIR? wow... never seen that happen before

alert mods

I was always told they couldn't PM MIR's also.

alert mods

It will be tough cookies, since you ask for PM & $150 Sears card discount.
Nevermind the DTV $300 discount, it's for any TV $999 & higher.

But I'd like to give it a shot by this wk-end.

alert mods

mir is not going to fly.

alert mods

Actually i told them that since i ordered it online it shows up as mail in rebate....but if i take the receipt to the store....it would be instant savings.....They agreed and gave the 150$ extra discount.

alert mods

need a receipt from you buddy.

alert mods

Yeah, I need that print out from you as well

alert mods

Why would BB PM the 5% Friends and Family event, it expired on Sunday.

alert mods

They don't know that 5% was from Friends and Family event. The order summary page which I took from Sears was good enough....because the price on that was already 5% less.

In Fishers, IN there are ready to price match if you just show them any kind of order summary page from other retail store.......

They said they cannot do both.....they can either give me a discount of 300$ for DTV on their reg price of 1299.99 or they will PM with the Sears deal....I told so many stories...that my friend gt it and if you cannot other supervisor can do at later date...and so on and sof forth...but he didn't listen

But before taking the price match at this best buy i went to another best buy and tried the PM + DTV and he said he can give me.....Everything was in place till another manager came and said don't do that....we would be under water...something like that
otherwise i would have got

42inch Panasonic Plasma 1080p (1299.99) + Yamaha Home Theater System (499.99) + Toshibha HD DVD player (399.99) + 4 years maintenance plan on the TV (249.99) + Direct TV reciver ($100) + Shipping + Taxes = $1626.99

This would have been wonderful deal...but another manager said ...don't do it and this guy said sorry sir.....

If i want to buy that TV so what should I do? Do I need to buy it from Sear to get a receipt then go to BB to have a PM after that return the TV back to sear? any proof do I need to bring with me when I am going to BB? is it OK to used a copy of someone receipt to show BB?
