Thanks for rubbing it in. I missed the both the RS and CC deals. Not a very good deal, but thanks for posting. Why would you get this when you can get the Amazon deal? They have the dual tuner for and a year of service for $100.
Where is this Amazon deal you speak of? I remember seeing it before but I can't find it now. How come people are rating this bad. Isn't it a pretty good deal?

i missed it too. if only i can get a single tuner for $40'ish from eBay with the $170 rebate valid, then i can get 1 year service free. that is enuff for me .

JMHO, but I think you'd be much better with OP's deal.
eBay would be $40(single tuner TiVo)+99(1 year of service)-170(rebate)= $30 - (whatever shipping/amount above $40 you have to pay) In addition, you have the gamble that something goes wrong to screw up the rebate such as the eBay seller already registered the unit, receipt or UPC not included, etc. You also end up with a single tuner unit. I have both types. I can assure you, the dual tuner function alone is worth far more than the possible $30 from the eBay scenario even with all the potential pitfalls of it aside.
Edit: Here's the original deal people refer to from Amaz0n. OP, I think this is a great deal. I think this was negged only because there were a number of unbelievable profit making Tiv0 deals recently. For the moment though, yours is the best deal available I can find and should be getting greened. To neg a deal like this does nothing more than bury it and keep those in the market now from seeing and benefiting from your efforts.
Well my TiVo just died and I don't think this is a bad deal considering the TiVo I have (which is probably obsolete!) cost a LOT more at the time. Since it lasts a couple more weeks I just might chalk up and buy one for this price. Thanks!
this is a good deal but its the same deal that has been running for a while over at KIDZONE. and if you are willing to sign a three year contract you can get it even cheaper.
Also if you are a current TiVo Subscriber you can get the service for one year for $99.
seems like a pretty good deal to me for a dual tuner. The rebate one people were making $$ from was just single tuner right? I'd pay some more $50 more for a dual tuner.
Just picked up a single tuner from RS. Would anyone here know what USB Ethernet/Wireless adapters are compatible with this Series2 TiVo? $30 is a bit much for the TiVo branded wireless adapter. Thanks!
It may seem alot but the list of confirmed adapters is relatively short. The most popular one is Linksys but you need to purchase the correct revision of the unit. $30 for a TiVo branded is really worth the extra $. Transfer rate is very solid.

I'll take that into consideration - thanks for the info.

Actually, the extended deal (RS and Amazon combined) nets a single tuner Series 2 (from RS), a dual tuner Series 2 (from Amazon), and a $100 TiVo activation gift card (from Amazon). With rebates ($50 from RS and $170 from TiVo) the deal works out to a $41 profit. Folks then plan to simply switch TiVo service from the single tuner to the dual tuner box once the TiVo rebate comes through. All-in-all a great deal!

Yep, the Amazon part of the deal is now dead (and RS single tuner units may be hard to find). I was just responding to the previous comment to clear up what WAS available.
It is as good as the Am8zon deal WAS. the Am8zon deal was $99 for machine and a $100 gift card, the 1 year service is $129 therefor total of 99+129-100=128. This deal is 125.
