You don't need an invite. Log on to grandcentral and reserve a number. In 2-3 weeks they will contact you. You can then register |

Okay, just to clarify-' Would it be okay if I just use one sim, and buy a $100 Tmobile card? Thanks And then just add money to it, instead of using another sim card also? |

And then just add money to it, instead of using another sim card also? The SIM card that you purchase from Tony comes with a number in area code 714. If that is not acceptable, he clearly mentions in the auction description that you are not supposed to change this number. In case the preassigned 714 number is acceptable to you for use over a long time, you can definitely continue to add credit to it, but what you are not gaining much by doing this. The idea behind buying from the Tony guy is to keep buying them one after the other, not to reuse the SIM cards for future refills. |

Okay, sorry! Who is Tony to begin with? Also, I already have a Tmobile prepaid sim currently, that isn't activated. Am I able to just use that? Thanks |

Thanks Are you posting your questions in a wrong thread or you are too lazy to read the previous posts. Your questions seem irrelevant to this topic. What do you mean by "Am I able to just use that?"? Use with what? |

http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10166_7-6160666-1.html What exactly is a SIM card? The SIM card is a tiny, rectangular card found in all GSM cell phones (think T-Mobile and Cingular) that acts as an ID card for your handset. Usually located behind the battery, a SIM card stores your phone number and is needed to activate a mobile for use. If the card is taken out of the handset, it stops working, and it is no longer associated with your phone number. The advantage of a SIM card is multifold (sorry, Verizon and Sprint folks). Most importantly, you can switch your phone number from one mobile to another simply by swapping out your SIM card. As long as both phones are for the same carrier, the switch is fast and painless. And on a related note, if your handset is unlocked (meaning it's not locked to one carrier only) you can buy prepaid SIM cards when traveling so that your mobile will always have a local number for your destination. And finally, SIM cards can store up to 250 contacts, which makes for easy transfers of your phone book. |

Hi Green for you OP. If you cut it short, you would have had far more requests for clarification than for brevity. I too have been doing this for several months. I use a Nokia 6030 I bought from AT&T for $9.99 shipped with $10 AT&T airtime SIM and received a $20.00 deal king rebate (courtesy of Fatwallet thread). I unlocked it as instructed on another fatwallet thread and put in the eBay T-Mobile SIM. 6 months of Airtime and a phone with lots of bells and whistles for less than $20.00. Go fatwallet! 2 Notes - 1. I have been using an eBay guy that gives the full 150 mintues -- even says so on his offer page (just cannot find his info right now -- will post when I find it). I somehow always figured it costing me close to 5 cents per minute with shipping and approx. 60 days per SIM without adding time. 2. Grand central can be a little funky when dealing with other mobile networks -- though I have folks in my same Grand Central group, depending on their mobile network I get different respones such as from Verizon, I get the full "NAME is calling - Press 1 to accept, 2 to ..." with caller's callerID showing in my window. From others it varies from no announcement, to no caller ID to my GrandCentral number as the caller ID. All in all a great service for the no contract user like me. I especially like that I can record any call to my GrandCentral mailbox call by simply pressing 4. |

Is anyone having problem with receiving GC calls lately? I am noticing that I get only about 1.5 ring before the caller gets sent to the voicemail. Lately I wasn't able to pickup a single call and I am having to always call them back immediately. I wish GC has a setting to increase the number of rings before reaching voicemail. |

I doubt if there is any crackdown. The supply is low, so they are being sold for between $12 to $14 shipped. Tony says he should have stock by late next week. Maybe it's time to go T-Mobile yearly, or PagePlus yearly (4 months + 4 months + 4 months). |
