Abit used to be my favorite MB manufactor, but they lost me once they move their production from Taiwan to China. Both quality and CS went south. My Pentium 2 Board (BH6, I still remember the model because I loved it) from them was the indestructible. However my both next P3 and P4 boards from them died on me within a year. The replacement died within a year also. After that, ASUS is my MB brand now. |

Good board. I had a lot of issues when I set up my first one (Post about 1/2 the time, wouldn't recognize CPU). My second one works now that I read the posts on Abit's site about the issues. Put everything together, clear CMOS, boot, set optomized defaults in BIOS, change ram voltages to the correct settings (stock is 1.8v which was incompatible with my ram), set timing on ram (It had mine off by a good bit), make sure it recognizes your cpu properly, if not manually set the frequency, voltage, etc. Reboot, and enjoy. I also had some issues with the chipset drivers in XP. It took a lot of work to get them to install properly, expecially the onboard audio. A lot of work to get it working for a big name board, but so far a solid performer with lots of over clocking potential. Stay away from BIOS ver 13. It has been removed from their site. |

Newegg now shows: Out of Stock (ETA:02/04/2008) [note - rebate expires 1/31/08] Darn - I was gonna get one to go with the nice P182 case from Frys (which I hope still ships since it's now gone OOS too!) |

Frys in Sacramento has about 10 "refurbs" $49.9x. 90 day manuf. war. C/S stated returns go to Abit. Hope that helps. I'm going to wait for NE to restock and hopefully a rebate. |

I'm glad I saved a copy of the orginal IP35-E rebate form. UPdate: OOS again that didn't take long |

just got my board. part# w05-78 on that place where a bad transistor may cause a Cold Boot Problem on some boards. Hope this one is OK. If you got one named "T04-72" replace the board asap without building it Location of the transistor |

If you got one named "T04-72" replace the board asap without building it Location of the transistor Just about to start my build with a IP35-E that I purchased in August and I came across your comment on the transistor problem. Looks like I have one with the T04. Has this problem affected all T04s? Does abit automatically replace the board if it has this transistor? Any use going back to Newegg for assistance? |
