Partially, so far haven't been able to get into real windows, only a skin that gives a file browser and some other basic things. Much harder to try to "hack" than the C310x
For those still looking for their Black Friday budget GPS, this one is back in stock for in-store pickup. It's available at one of the two stores near me, so YMMV (last night it showed as OOS).
No text to speech but, unlike some of the other cheapies out there, this one has updatable software.
Saw it in stock right now at CC. However, Amazon reviews suggest it's not worth it... lack of pinhole reset button leaves you helpless when the thing crashes (which I guess Windows CE units are prone to do).
I don't know much about GPS systems, but that review was enough to put me off buying one, even if it is only $99.

No, it leaves Amazon reviewer helpless. I reset one with no problems when it crashed (only once for me in last 3 months).

Ordered 2 of these yesterday morning and both are being shipped out now according to CC updates. Looking forward to using these devices before giving them to my kids.
BTW...Downloaded the manual and it describes a reset function "2.1 Restart and Shut Down Occasionally, you may need to reset your device. For example, you should reset your system when it stops responding. Restarting Your Device, To restart your device, press the power button for 3 seconds until the power off selection appears and then tap Restart." Seems like a simple solution...
If you are looking to buy two of these like my parents did and you are a AAA member you can say 10% of the purchase of $199+ . I think the link for the discount is on the AAA site. Good Online, By Phone and In-Store!

TIA.Mine says 3.2 Mar 8 2007.
What does the 3.3 verion have?I think the 3.3 has newer maps. Perhaps it's also the version with TTS as the C230 I was looking at had 3.3 and has TTS. Hmm, I wonder if the C220 can be upgraded.

Can't be sure if you can update to the 3.3 version, but the Mio website has lots of info and updater tools which may do the job... Mio Website
