I looked but couldn't find the earlier thread on that again (the one about price-matching the Target and WalMart offers); was that a sale that ended yesterday or their regular price?

fyi, for those of you who don't know, as I didn't until recently, this movie and the books are an "anti christian" series written by a good author(atheist I think) who likes attacking religion. I'm a christian and if you want to see the movie that's fine. I'd love to see it as I'm a huge scifi/fantasy fan, but I'm not sure I want to give my $$$ to their establishment. For those of you that weren't aware I thought you might like to know ahead of time.
I've read this movie is a dumbed down version of the first book in the series. Who knows I may go to see it just for the heck of it since it does look kewl, but if your are a christian and plan on taking your kids, just know there's an anti christian theme. If your anti christian(or any religion) yourself thats fine, I don't mean to attack you, your intitled to your views.
Otherwise this looks like a good deal, green 4 u.

slicer69, thanks for the info.
I do know in the past you could use the vouchers for ANY movie at the theater. I have never used the freebies for their pre-assigned movie. Just be polite at the theater and they really couldn't care less what you watch.
As for CGI warrior polar bears? I saw the trailer up close when i watched Enchanted, no one in my party which included kids, were impressed. Enchaned, on the other hand, was cool!

Why are Christians, who are supposed to have faith, so fragile concerning their faith? When I see religious movies such as the Ten Commandments or Passion of the Christ, I have faith that it will not change my beliefs that god is a fairy tale best left to preschool children. Perhaps Christians should strenghten their faith to match that of the unfaithfull.

This is not about faith, its about if you are willing to knowingly support what you believe or disbelieve in. Matter of choice, not faith.

A thousand lifetimes of your ignorance of the existance of God won't change what I know to be true and have proven out in my life. So in a twisted way, maybe I'll make you happy that my faith is strong enough to match the "unfaithfull" and then some.

Otherwise this looks like a good deal, green 4 u. Have you read these novels? It is...quite frankly the definition of ignorance to condemm that which you are not familiar. This is reminiscent of the anti-Harry Potter sentiment we've had to endure as well. Why is it such things only become controversial when made into movies. Don't you guys read books?

Wow, I always wanted the extended editions, I own all the 'original' dvd releases (remembering that extendeds waited until christmas to be released following the sept-october normal release).
Anyways, I actually loved Pan's labyrinth, and it also looks like the special collector's edition.
So I picked up 4 =) 50 dollars after tax with instore backup, and I'll get the 4 tickets, and like others have said my theater will let you use them for any movie if you are polite and ask before attempting to use =)

At my theatres, you don't even have to ask. Just get a ticket for whatever movie, go up to guest services and switch it for any other.
Why do people have to try and turn deal into religions debates...

Great deal and DVDs! Can't wait for "The Golden Compass" - the kids have been clamoring about wanting to watch it after seeing the commercials! With these free passes, they'll be able to bring their friends as well.
jbloggs said: I bought Notebook and Wedding Crashers (only FULL screen versions are on sale) from Target for $3.98 each with the movie tickets.
Dude, thanks. I got 4 copies of Notebook, they were out of Crashers. So that adds on to the Pan I got at Best Buy. The Pan I want to keep. The Notebook, I only got for the movie coupons. To those that don't know. Notebook is a movie about fate and destiny. It has some serious religious overtones. So decide for yourself if you want to support something like that. The girl is hot though so selected scenes might be useful for self satisfaction. I'm going to use mine as coasters. I don't want to pollute Gaia by throwing them away.
I'm sorry but you may have missed my point. It isn't about faith, it's giving a bit of knowledge about this movie that some may not be aware of, and may affect how they want to spend their $$$. I stated I'm a christian so readers will know where I stand with no hidden agenda, however many consumers are probably not aware of the agenda of the author of these books. The commercials for the movie certainly don't state it.
I haven't read the books yet, but since I'm done with harry potter and the lord of the rings I might just start reading this series, and I may still go see the movie cause i luv da scifi fantasy stuff! but knowing the purpose of the content makes me pause and think about it first; do I want to support something that goes against my beliefs? or is it really not that big a deal and I should just read/goto the movie and enjoy knowing its not going to rock my christian beliefs?

Nice, I picked up 12 tonight for $78. I should be able to get back ~$60 for them on Craigslist for that should 12 movies for under $20.

Do you know if that's their current price or was it last week's sale price? Thanks in advance.
Ditto. Is $3.98 their current price? I looked through the ad but couldn't find them at $3.98. It'd be nice to know ahead. TIA
What movies have had this promotion in the past? My fuzzy memory is telling me that its only been lousy movies where the studios were afraid of a poor box office turnout. I'm really hoping this movie turns out good.

I scoured the DVD sections at my WalMart and found a few of the movies, but they didn't have any mention of the tickets on the box. So either I'm blind or YMMV.

Even in BB only some of the Pans had the sticker on them. No sticker, no coupon. There's a coupon inside for up to a $10.50 showing. I hope Compass runs for a while. Although the theatres have to cash in the coupons by Feb 2nd if I remember right.

Please advise... thanks.
movies by me are $10-11 and i don't go to matinees so this is a hot deal for me. plus i can give away the dvds to friends or use them as stocking stuffers.

To those that were asking for the $3.98 Wedding Crasher/The Notebook at Target, it was only good for Friday and Saturday. This price is NO LONGER VALID. I had to dig up the pile of BF ads to find it.

Thanks for answering. Yeah, I stopped at Target today but the Wedding Crasher was back up to $9.++ and The Notebook was $13.++ (or vice versa; not sure which was which).

I bought Wedding crashers from Best Buy. It was sealed and there was a sticker saying "Golden Compass movie money inside", but it contained no such "movie money". Guess I'll return it.
