Rather than paying $70 and doing three rebates ($50+20+$30) you can pay $60 and do two ($60+$30).
Totally agree! |

From what I've been reading here you will not make $30 from this deal, it will simply be FAR. In the past it would have worked but apparently Parago has updated their systems to catch this type of situation. |

Buying for OD needs to pay taxes and has one more rebate hassle. On the flip site, you get free cookies . |

But certainly more caution and/or circumspection is needed now than was the case prior. |

I live in IL and would have to pay tax from Frys, so OffD deal is still good to me. I do get some CB and WorkLife rewards, at least. And let’s not forget the bonus tin of cookies! Also, the the $20 rebate is through web-rebates and not Parago, so it shouldn’t factor into the possible rebate combinability issue. Thanks, I got the $30 rebate to show after a few refreshes. I was able to do a three rebate combo deal from OffD a few months ago on Norton something, Confidential, I think. We’ll see how this one goes. A good litmus test for the future, perhaps. |

But the $50 rebate, despite the URL, is Parago as well, so $50+30>$70 could invoke the clause. |

Thanks, OP. To the experts of this upgrade rebate game: I bought Trend Micro Internet Security from Amazon on BF (it is the only antivirus software I have up to date); I plan to mail the original UPC to get the rebate for that purchase. What would you recommend to mail to Parago as a "proof of previous purchase" to have best chances for this McAfee upgrade rebate to be approved? Added: and where should I search for the free nuts for deals like this? |

@zhiyanl, forget the link -- just go to the home page of the rebate site and enter the offer number posted up the thread. Note that the $30 rebate is YMMV for above stated reasons. HomoSapiens, a photocopy of the CD works. For the nuts, add coupon 31211089 to the cart and choose which variety you want. |

anyone has problem apply for the free cookie and nuts code? It seems like the system consider the price as $0 (after rebate price) or is it just me? |

THe upgrade rebate 0709-72342 is the same promotion number used for this product at Frys last month. High likelihood of being denied if you try for it again. Symantec may permit 3 upgrade rebates but not sure that McAfee is so generous. |

rseiler, thanks for the tip. I too cannot get peanuts for free: "!Error The coupon redemption conditions have not been met. Please review the coupon requirements and verify the order amount meets or exceeds the minimum requirement. If the free item has not been added to the cart, click on the 'Select items' link in the coupon section of the shopping cart and click 'Add to Cart' on the following page.(Coupon 031211089, CD07)" (everything was added successfully, yet charged 8.99 for the nuts.) It really might be related to the fact that they list this McAfee... with (0.01) price. Bastards. If so, I wonder what kind of CashBack I'll receive on this purchase -- will it also be based on AR price? Anyone succeeded with free cookies/nuts ? bozo007, I actually planned to use this antivirus, mine expires shortly. Is it really so terribly awful? What should I use instead then? |

sounds if you bought a PC/laptop, you can get another $55.00 rebate check. Just an option for those bought a PC or laptop during the BF. Not sure if both items must be on one receipt. In rebate terms, I couldn't read information on this. |

Placed the order with cookies after all. Coupon worked, cookies were complimentary. Thanks to all for input and ideas Concerning the free nuts: I sent them a question online last night; they replied: place an order without the coupon and contact us back, we'll see if we can apply it postfactum, when we see your order. That's what I planned to do, however by this morning the 31211089 coupon terms had changed, and it showed "free peanuts with $100 order". Perhaps the terms were half-changed in their system yesterday, and that was why I could not apply it (even though it clearly read "with 50" yesterday... I should have saved it, and argue today... Oh well, I'll have to live with cookies... Interestingly, their listed price is higher than that of nuts) |
