slickms said:The McAfee upgrade rebates ask for "Original Proof of Purchase". What should that be? The original UPC will go with the McAfee $50 rebate. It's the inside top left box flap that says "McAfee Internet Security - Proof of Purchase". As for this deal.. $7 in taxes makes it harsh to swallow, but I think i'm going to get on it anyway. Do you know which rebate(s) applies when purchased via Amazon? Is Amazon an "other" store on the rebate site? I honestly do not know. But for sure that would be my best guess. There's a BUNCH of rebates out on this title. But I have not read through the details on each one to learn whether, perhaps, Amazon might be an excluded source. Also there remains the danger of rejection because of exceeding purchase price. It becomes YMMV. But for certain, I think, you would get your $25 back. Of course to buy this for $25 you need a 1 cent filler. |

I found it on the 2008 version box. I was looking for it on the 2007 version box. The boxes are so similar. oopsz said:slickms said:The McAfee upgrade rebates ask for "Original Proof of Purchase". What should that be? The original UPC will go with the McAfee $50 rebate.

I also found out the original UPC on the box was covered by another UPC. The same thing happened to 2007 version I bought from Staples. |

There is a sticker on the box saying $30 upgrade/competitive rebate. Inside the box, there is the rebate form which requires the original proof of purchase located on the top inside flap of the box.
But there are no such words anywhere on the flap, even the whole box!!!!
I already opened it, can I still return it to local OD and get refund?

HomoSapiens said: bozo007, I actually planned to use this antivirus, mine expires shortly. Is it really so terribly awful? What should I use instead then? You bought Trend Micro Internet Security on BF. If you are using that why do you need another AV software? According to Consumer Reports, Trend Micro is much better than McAfee. |

Anyone noticed that the upgrade rebate form in the box has mailing address to El Paso, the online printed one goes to Miami. Which place is more reliable and faster? |

Which place is more reliable and faster? JMHO but I would send to TX. FL is more for resubmissions AFAIK. Stuff sent to FL WILL be processed . . . . just as soon as the people in FL sent it to TX. |

This is weird. For the $20 OD rebate on this item, my status online was shown as "A valid UPC was not submitted". Clearly this was some sort of clerical error -- this had happened before and a phone call usually made things right. So I called the rebate center and the agent told me that he had a scan of my submitted rebate form and that NO UPC code was on it. I even told him where to look for the copy of the UPC code and he said it was not there. Needless to say, the copy I made of my submission has the UPC code on it. Also of interest, the agent made an "exception" and validated the rebate even without the UPC code. $50 McAfee rebate: valid $30 McAfee rebate: not yet received (mailed 12/22) |
