I also received the $25 off $100 offer. I didn't pay any attention to the offer-banner until I read this thread. Thanks OP |

Just wanted to add an update. Bought a $375 Wii (incl. s/h) yesterday, ready to check out, no coupon. I got the same message, "This redemption code cannot be used from your paypal account." I spent LITERALLY three hours on the phone w/ PayPal because the deal wasn't working for me. Had to make sure my eBay user id and email matched my paypal account, on and on. Not sure what they did, but the CSR sort of acknowledged that they had a glitch on their end and it was JUST fixed. Saying all this to say, if you got an error message before, try again now. If you want to float the coupon and see if it flies, now would be a good time. At least now they're aware of the problem, so there may be a window of opportunity for some opportunists. No judgment, just a heads up. Got my $75!!! |

I emailed eBay to gripe about not getting a coupon. Here's their response: Dear XXX, Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your concern. I apologize if you felt that eBay was over looking some of our loyal members such as yourself, that particular coupon was intended as incentive for some of our less frequent buyers to get them interested in purchasing on eBay again this holiday season. Since you are a high value member, I would like to send you a $25.00 certificate to let you know that we value your business. You will receive this certificate in your eBay My Messages Inbox in 2-3 days. Thank you for taking time out of your day to contact us regarding this and I hope you have a great day. It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay. Sincerely, XXXX WOW, thanks eBay!!!!!!!! |

I'm not sure if you HAVE to have this offer sent to you to be eligible but reading the terms and conditions it sure doesn't seem as though you need this to be sent to you to take advantage of the offer.
Check it out...

Not again .... this is the promo by paypal. The one OP has written on is directly from eBay |

Can anyone specifically talk about their eBay purchase and how they used their discount code? Did you pick an item randomly in eBay or are there certain preferred sellers we are to chose from? Thanks, and Merry Christmas |

Thanks, and Merry Christmas You can choose just about anyone you want. I think the only big requirement is that the seller must accept PayPal and I think you CANNOT go through eBay Express. Make sure you read the fine print, though, to confirm. I'm the OP. Got the coupon when I signed in. Found a Wii from a random seller. Purchased through regular auction (as opposed to Buy It Now, which I think is also acceptable). Checked out in the normal way. When I got to the Pay Now screen in PayPal, entered the coupon code I was given. (Initially it didn't work, but my understanding from PayPal is that the glitch has been fixed -- see my earlier post). Code was applied immediately, so the Pay Now screen reflected the (in my case) $75 discount. Got an email from the seller that the full payment was received. That's it. Basically a normal transaction. |

Basically a normal transaction. The glitch hasnt been fixed, I had spent hours on phone Thursday with both eBay and paypal, eBay blamed paypal, and paypal blamed eBay for the problem. I got the same error, "this coupon cannot be used on this account". eBay told me to send an email to marketing to reset the coupon for my account, I did that, received a letter from eBay letting me know I emailed wrong department and they forwarded to paypal and in the future email them. After waiting for 5 days for a response, paypal finally emailed me saying what I already knew how emails had to match (wasnt the problem as i already been through that already). I had to call eBay and describe this whole fiasco and they finally gave me a 100 dollar credit, which was nice of them but really wasnt worth it after all the time I spent trying to clear it up. Bottom line is, I STILL cant use that coupon. |

I used my coupon for $90 off. My coupon was for 20% off any purchase on eBay paid through PayPal for a max of $100 off. I bought a $500 gift card for $445 + $5 s/h - $90 (coupon) total of $360 for $500. Merry Christmas! |

I am about to purchase the most expensive item I have ever bought at eBay.com, so any discounts at all will really, really help. Thank you. |
