You're not going to get TTS at this price from anyone but the lowest-end of manufacturers.

~$129 seems to be the going rate for low-end GPS systems now like this one, many Navigon's, Tom Tom One etc. That said this price seems just like regular retail. Not really a bargain.

Ordered one and also used $15 off email coupon for in-store pick up. Very recently released and reviews seems to have a lot of complaints ... will wait to see if they update the firmware to fix the bugs.

Also some misspecification about the GPS receiver chip on one of the sites was noted. It does NOT have SirfstarIII GPS chip.

Thanks OP.

Confused now, may be it does have

"SiRFstarIII™: Integrated chipset provides the fastest GPS position acquisition in the industry"

quoted from the mfr website.

You get what you pay for IMO, which is why I would never buy a low end GPS in this price range. But if you are in the market for a cheap, bare bones solution, I suppose this could work, although it seems that this deal is not that hot compared to regular prices, and reviews are not that great either.

Looking for a fellow FWer to PM on gps questions.......looking to purchase for dad. Looking for larger screen-portable that says actual street names(not just turns). What is the difference between TTS and voice guidance? Thanks
