I've owned both (note owned, not currently own both). The Logitech Quickcam chat is a POS. Terrible video quality, very small picture, very jerky. I'd keep it if it was free only.. and maybe just for the mic/earphone that is included with the Quickcam Chat. This was for Windows XP. In Leopard MacOS 10.5 the camera is not recognized without the use of macam program. Even then quality is really sad and very jerky/slow.
The Microsoft VX-1000 is much better compared to the Quickcam Chat. Better focus ring, much better indoor light/dark rooms, better controls, BUILT IN MIC on the phone. Larger picture but still grainy. More fluid motion, less jerky than the Quickcam Chat. Used it for Winxp. Will keep this one.

Anyone own this one and can comment?
The Logitech one is an ok entry level (aka cheap) cam as long as you give it plenty of light.
