this software is spam on top of spam. if you want a good codec to use, go with xvid or some other free variant out there.

dieburnbot said:To convert DVD's into DivX/XviD just use a freeware program called AutoGK. Its really easy to use and you can customize the output quality:

Thanks for the link. However I could only convert .vob in to .wmi no divx codec were loaded after installing this sw.

Am I missing some thing?

Is it dead? Pro is $10 now?

You can just download the "free version" which includes the trials for the Pro and enter the serial numbers users posted on page 1 of this thread.

Where do I enter the serial number. It never asks for one?

Are you on Windows XP? Go to Start, All Programs, Divx, Divx Codec, and then Register Products. Then just type in the serial.

/ rant

Not once have I downloaded one of these converters where the program just *worked*. It's always a matter of downloading this or that from here or there, tweaking, installing, uninstalling then reading pages upon pages of BS just to explain how to make the damn thing work and, quite frankly, it's just a major pain in the a$$. Isn't there a program out there that just simply WORKS right out of the box without having to invest half a day just to get the damn thing to work? I mean... it shouldn't be this hard. I'm sure for the geeks it's a labor of love and granted, I'm a newbie to the fine art of video conversion and I expect there to be a small learning curve but... for the love of God, all I want to do is convert a DVD to a file format that can be uploaded to my iPod Touch or PSP. Is this asking for too much?

/ end rant

Your solution is a software called Plato DVD Ripper 6.81
