Hopefully someone can post their experience, but I would be amazed and shocked if they try to apply a 10% fee to redeeming a SuperCertificate. The assumption being, SuperCertificates are marketed as gifts, and it would be a very distasteful surprise if a SuperCertificate gift recipient discovered that they had to give up 10% of their gift's value just to redeem it. This is from the Merchant Gift Card page. Hope it is valid.... Product Fees If you are Shopping with a SuperCertificate and make a purchase equal to the value of the SuperCertificate then there are NO ADDITIONAL FEES. If you are shopping with a SuperCertificate and make a purchase of greater value then the SuperCertificate the product fees below apply. The following product fees apply for this merchant gift card if you are purchasing by credit card: 10% of Face Value |

Well, got two confirmation emails for my order, the first one with 15% off, the second one took the 15% off away. Had to call to cancel. dealhunter999 said:Has anyone got an eSuperCertificate using 15% today? I too got the first email with the 15% off total for the e-supercertificate, but then the subsequent email didn't have that. Not sure how much they charged my card yet. Order history on the website indicates I got the 15% off. You can't use the ecertificate on Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Starbucks (those were the ones I tried). Too bad about the Amazon once since I have Amazon Prime. Alas. I was, however, able to exchange it into a variety of electronic and real gift cards and stacked the 10% off coupon on top of it; they charged me $10.95 for shipping. But in total I was able to save like 22% on a variety of gift cards. Combined with post Xmas sales at places like Pottery Barn Kids (my wife likes it there) and Old Navy, B&N, Staples, Drugstore, I think I did pretty well. -j. |

This has got to be the worst shopping website ever. I placed an order and got the 15% discount, and got a confirmation. Then got another confirmation showing full price. What's the deal with this? Now the customer service dept is closed, so I won't be able to do anything until Wednesday probably. This is just so stupid. I wish I could speak to a customer rep so I can blow off some steam.. I hate when websites do this.. |

I called my CC company after getting the e-mail as others have showing full price when the 15% is applied. They said there was a pending charge for the correct amount (with the discount applied) so I guess it was charged right. I've already used the e-certificate, so my only recourse will be to file a chargeback if they billed me incorrectly once I get the monthly statement. Dunno how that will pan out, but I'm hoping that won't happen. /edit: BTW, gave this thread a red cause the OP put in Amazon could be purchased... I ended up getting some F.Y.E. and Sharper Image GC's, neither of which I would've really wanted, but I didn't want to go through canceling my order after the thing was e-mailed to me. |

Thanks chronostiltzkin for that info. I have edited the OP to reflect that they are not permitting SuperCertificates to be used on Amazon GC's. Big disappointment for many, I'm sure. Hard to imagine what the justification is. Also certainly a change from years past, when these supers COULD be used on Amazon GCs. They should have a plainly visible disclaimer somewhere on the Amazon GC page warning people that their SuperCertificate won't be accepted here. Is Amazon really hitting them harder on commissions than any other vendor? Seems unlikely. |
